Editorial reviews

Narrated with sensual slyness by Vanessa Chambers, Justice: New Species, Book 4 is the continued tale a genetically modified man who becomes leader of a new species; half human, half animal. A side-effect to this modification is that the man is now also the hottest hunk in the world. This man is Justice. And our protagonist, Jessie Dupree, can’t wait to get her hands all over him.

A steamy and erotic story that should be listen to for the sexy details, rather than perhaps the plot.

Publisher's summary

Justice North is the face of New Species. Seeing him up close makes Jessie’s heart race. He’s the ultimate alpha male - big, muscular, exotically beautiful… and dangerous. Of course he’s off limits. But then the sexy man purrs and all bets are off. Jessie Dupree is a mouthy, fiery human female who brings out the animal in Justice. She wants to show him how to relax, and he’s all for anything she wants to do, but Justice has sworn to protect his people and to take a Species mate.

He’s torn between the woman he wants and the oath he’s taken. Jessie knows a relationship between them probably won’t end well; heartbreak is inevitable. But that won’t stop her from freeing the wildness inside Justice and spending every moment she can steal wrapped around his hot body, making him roar with passion.

Narration has grown on me

Justice, Justice, Justice. . .

Where is the justice for him? ? ?

Jessie is so much more than Justice could have wanted. Dohner gives a beautiful tale of him and his resistance to falling for a human. He is the leader of the New Species and he is suppose to love/mate with one of his own. Jessie blows all that to hell in a hand-basket. The explosive reveal brings down more heat than either of them could have bargained for. Justice is a bit of an azz in the story but you have to see things from his viewpoint. He is the face of his race.

I revisit this series a few times a year. Fury is still my favorite.

Best one so far

If you could sum up Justice: New Species, Book 4 in three words, what would they be?

Book 1 was interesting. Book 2 was OK. Book 3 was nonstop excitement. Book 4 is the "best so far". Every aspect on New Species was on display with a spice of mystery.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Justice is by far the greatest character as his brilliant mind and instincts battle each other creating an air of mystery.

Which scene was your favorite?

The provocation into public confession.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The thought that a civil war was a real threat. My mind was spinning wildly with the images of the storyline could develop.

Any additional comments?

I love this series and never want it to end. I hope that one book will be dedicated to Breeze or another species female with a human male. The possibilities are endless and a child would be a greater storyline.

Wow - the Supper Hot and loveable Justice

Any additional comments?

Wow once again Laurann has written another supper hot and captivating story.... Justice North, as leader of the New Species Organization NSO, very little of his time is his to enjoy... especially with the one particular woman who's managed to catch his eye. Jessie Dupree isn't New Species. She's human, the daughter of NSO's mouth piece Senator Jacob Hills, and therefore she's untouchable. Justice knows how it would look to humans - especially the zealots who've set out to eradicate the New Species - for the very visible leader of the NSO to take a human mate. It would not only bring more hate and discrimination down on his people, it would put Jessie — and now that they knew New Species males could impregnate human women — any children they might have together in very great danger. Unfortunately, Jessie is too stubborn and too damn reckless to see the line drawn in the sand.Jessie is the only woman on the human task force working to find and free the small New Species females given away by Mercile Industries as gifts to their benefactors. Most of these gift females are still held captive by their “owners” and in most cases have been sexually and physically abused. It's Jessie's job to console and calm these woman when they're located and rescued. When her father got her the job, she was told to stay out of the way until the women were safely secured. However, Jessie has other ideas as to what her job entails and it's nothing short of busting in with the assault team, gun drawn and spitting bullets.

Wonderful as always

Love this series. I have read it several times and listened too. I just wish Ms. Downer that you would continue with some of the main characters like Brass that was mentioned a lot in several books. Recommend highly. Always a reread or listening book to go to for me.

Intriguing

I was snagged from book 1 but I have to say this one really took the cake for me. Laurann Dohner really identified Justice's struggle between his obligation to his people and the woman he loved. I felt his emotional battle. As for Jessie; she portrayed a strong woman in love but standing for what she believed in. It was explosive. I also enjoyed Vanessa Chambers' narration. She manages to maintain the voices of each character in the books which makes it easy as the stories continue.

I would recommend this book and series to all if you enjoy this genre.

Kudos Laurann!!!

Great Book

The narrator, Vanessa Chambers did a great job. She had emotion in her voice and
was not droning on and on. It would have been nice to have a male voice do the male talking. Loved the story of Justice.

This was a really good listen just like the others in this series but Jesse is a strong character which fits so well with Justice.

Aaaaahhhhhhh Justice, YES!!

I've wanted to hear Justice's story since I began this series and I was not disappointed one bit!!!! This sexy story was further enhanced by his romantic interest--Jessie--I LOVED her! I've gushed about all the preceding stories, and my adoration of this series continues. Justice's story is less of a "nailbiter" than the other one's so it was a nice change. It still has action, but, it focused more on him coming to terms with his public persona versus being a man in love. I adored every moment, definitely a credit worthy series.
