Publisher's summary

When female wolf shifter Taryn Warner first encounters Trey Coleman, an alpha male wolf shifter with a dangerous reputation, she’s determined to resist his charms. After all, Trey - who was only fourteen when he defeated his own father in a duel, winning the right to be alpha of his pack - can’t have anything to offer the talented healer besides trouble, or so she thinks. Taryn finds herself drawn in by Trey’s forceful demeanor and arctic-blue eyes, and she eventually agrees to enter an uneasy alliance with him. If the two succeed in convincing their respective packs that they’ve chosen each other as mates, Trey will win valuable political allies, while Taryn will escape an odious arranged mating.

But there are a lot of potential pitfalls to this plan - including the very real possibility that the wolf shifters, overwhelmed by their growing attraction to each other, will be unable to maintain the clear heads needed to pull off the deception.

Wow, this one was quite the listen

Would you listen to Feral Sins again? Why?

Yes, I liked the story a lot. Although I admit that the more... Adult... Scenes were a little intense for my tastes at times. Of course I don't usually listen to these types of books, I feel so embarrassed.

What other book might you compare Feral Sins to and why?

It's rather similar to books by Mina Carter and Jennifer Ashley.

Which scene was your favorite?

No spoilers

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Oh yes, at points I was actually teary-eyed. But I'll never tell which. Listen to it yourself and find out. ^_~

Any additional comments?

The performance wasn't my favorite, but still good. Because the book switches perspectives multiple times a chapter it's odd to me hearing a bloke's thoughts from a woman, but that's more a personal preference than anything.

Let's make a Deal :)

Any additional comments?

Here you have the story of Taran and Trey. Taran is the daughter of a brutal Alpha who wishes to mate her off to gain alliances. Trey is the Alpha of the Phoenix pack who wants to make a deal that will help him get what he wants and help Taran to get what she wants.

Taran is a latent (can't shift) wolf who is bullied by other wolves because of this disability. She is also an extraordinary healer. With the deal to gain her freedom from mating a wolf she does not desire, Taran becomes the pretend mate of Trey.

Trey is a broody powerful Alpha who will do anything to protect his pack even if it means pretending to mate a latent wolf.

Taran is a strong-willed wolf who is very humorous and does not take crap off of anyone even Trey. There are battles, twist, laughter, and most definitely mouthwatering sex scenes that keep you intrigued throughout the listen.

The narrator does a great job portraying all of the characters, both female and male. The story is done with dual POVs. It is a creditworthy listen.

Wolfy Erotica

Hmmm... where to start with this one. I liked it. I really did. But there's just something nagging at me and I'll get to it in a sec. First though, I think this book should be classified as Erotica first and paranormal romance second. If you like Silvia Day or the Fifty Shades books then just mix in a little werewolf action and this is what you get. Before you listen, however, I'd highly recommend checking out Nalini Singh's Psy-changeling series to get you prepped for a shifter universe. This book slams you right into it and gave me a "second book" vibe as if I should already understand the rules. Luckily I did, and if you do, proceed.

Taryn is a latent wolf shifter (can't actually shift into her wolf) and that genetic disability tails her for most of the book. Trey is a berserker type Alpha wolf. Both have daddy issues. When Taryn gets out of mating with a Tool by faking a true-mate bonding with Trey, they end up having fabulously hot sex all the time and Taryn dishes out the snarkiness along with her own Alpha vibes.

Here's where I'm torn. (SLIGHT SPOILERS) Taryn is a Mary-Sue. She's latent, yeah, but everything that comes out of her mouth is gold. She has the ultimate comeback for everything and after a while, her perfect tongue gets a little old. As does her banter with the Alpha's grandmother - just when I thought they'd move one, they were back in the gutter. It starts to become very Jr. High. Trey also seems a little too perfect and pushes things to borderline rape in the bedroom. She's constantly saying no. Sometimes I wondered if they needed a safe word. But hey, I enjoy a guy who can go cave-man and as they are wolves, it makes for primal hotness. Tho, in the end it started to become a little like a soap opera. It's a fun sexy read and it's read very well by Redfield. 3.5 Stars.

Audible said it. Not for me

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you like many repetitive sex scenes with not a lot of variation in the hot angry fighting-for-dominance sex theme--you'll enjoy it. The same lines popped up over and over and I hit fast forward as soon as he started with the finger or tongue jamming. I love sexing and the dominant thing can be really hot, but this just didn't change enough from scene to scene and his dirty talk got old. Reader did a great job not going over the top with this, although her method of panting breathy insults from the heroine during the sexxing got old.

What do you think your next listen will be?

some other shapeshifter maybe a Briggs

Which character – as performed by Jill Redfield – was your favorite?

she's a great reader.

What character would you cut from Feral Sins?

Nearly everyone, but I'd say first against the wall would be the repetitive-insult granny. slut slut slut slut slut slut slut slut

The heroine's return insults were sometimes funny -- but they got old, esp. la-la land ones.

Any additional comments?

Some fun lines in there. And sometimes--before he managed to impale her on his impressive man-meat and tame her--she gave pretty good return for his assholey THIS ASS IS MINE attitude. I laughed out loud when she shoved the toast in his face.

Wonderful love atory

I Loved it. Once I got past the narrator's voice trying to be a man (horrible), it was a great story. The best part of the book was at the end when she shifted into a beautiful wolf. The parts between Taren and Greta were hilarious!!!!! I'm going to use the line about not giving a f&^k!

Listen to it if you like typical alpha male

Would you try another book from Suzanne Wright and/or Jill Redfield?

Nope. I am not sure if it is the writing or Jill Redfield, but it was painful to listen to Jill speak in a male voice and the character sounded more like a dumb jock.

Would you recommend Feral Sins to your friends? Why or why not?

Nope. See above.

Did Jill Redfield do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

It was easy to differentiate the characters. But her male voice is not very attractive. Instead of sounding smart and sexy, she comes off as dumb and too much of a "try hard."

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Rewrite the characters' dialogues and change the narrator.

Any additional comments?

Nope.

This and the Immortals of New Orleans are awesome!

I absolutely love this series, along with the spin off, the Mercury Pack. There are great characters with believable relationships. There isn't a ton of angst, which I appreciate. There is a lot of very HOT, VERY DESCRIPTIVE SEX, so if that bothers you, choose another shifter series. However, if you like dirty - talking alpha males and the women that can bring them to their knees, you'll love this series. There is a lot of "roasting" kind of humor also. This series will have you smiling and laughing more than crying; which is refreshing. So many romance stories have so much pain, sadness and angst, it ruins MY whole day. This series will brighten your day. Enjoy!

Love the story but can we get more of it...

The story was great, but I just couldn't get past all the bedroom scenes. I ended up not finishing and returning it. I felt like there was a little bit of story sprinkled into a plethora of porn. I love where this story was going and a little sad but when I am simply saying "REALLY!!!! AGAIN!!!!" It is time to move on. Reader was great with voices and emotion.
