I like Fantasy & Science Fiction but not into Zombie. Due to Health issues, listen to Audiobooks/read ebooks where I can enlarge the print
With an excellent Author and narrator how can you go wrong.
All of books in the Arcane. Ladies of Lantern Street, Dark Legacy and Harmony series are an auto buy for me. Not that some of Jayne Ann Krentz's other series and books are not worth reading or buying for example the Lost Colony series (early Harmony clone) Lavinia Lake / Tobias March series and Eclipse Bay series/books to name but a few
I hope we hear more about Rainshadow and the world of Harmony for a long time to come.
As there are 3 Sebastian siblings and 3 missing crystals as noted in The Lost Night, I had hoped that meant the third crystal will be tackled in the third book along with inducing the third sibling a sister. But with all crystals now accounted for . . . who knows . . I guess we will have to wait for the next installment to find out.
As for meeting the next Dust Bunny it.s going to be a hard wait to meet the next successor to bunnies like Elvis and Houdini. each one in the past has had him or her own unique personality and contribution to each story
Is it worth buying - YES
If you like a touch of Paranormal or books set in alternate worlds you will find it hard to find a better author than Jayne Ann Krentz
Jayne Ann Krentz also writes under Jayne Bentley, Jayne Castle, Amanda Glass, Stephanie James, Amanda Quick, Jayne Taylor. The most famous being Jayne Ann Krentz contempory, Amanda Quick past and Jayne Castle future themed books.
this is another book in the Harmony series -- it was reallly good. if you like the Harmony world and have been reading the books you will like this.
I really enjoyed it because I have read/listened to all of Jayne Castles books.
this one is better if you are familiar with the harmony world
PLOT: THE ISLAND HOLDS TREASURES~~~
Paranormal romance~ Alice North can "bend light" and so she can "disappear" before your eyes. She has a magic act with her PET...a "dust bunny" ...a dust bunny is not a rabbit but a 6 legged cat like creature with 4 baby blues eyes that is part of the act. Alice is being "stalked by her ex mother in law". HUNK Drake Sebastian is "day blind" and was blinded by his jealous ex lover Zara.....wearing dark glasses to avoid the glare of light ...he is drawn to Alice who he takes in a "marriage of convenience" to pair up to solve the mystery of the ISLAND covered in fog that is rumored to have mystery and "treasure'.....using the "talents" of Alice and even Drake help this move along well. ONE of the BETTER paranormal romances in a long time. Dust Bunny is adorable and fun and has you laughing at his antics. Lots of death and drama and mystery here but the romance between Alice and Drake is solid and interesting. I GIVE THIS ONE 4 OUT OF 5 for romance, mystery and a pet that is "naughty" as he is fun. Holds the interest. VERY Good.
Nv Native American, 1 room school house, hi school of 30, Raised 4-2& 2 ala Brady Bnch, lv audio books, home bound widow. M happy. Thnx AB.
This is a trivial complaint that reflects on all of Jayne Castles works and does not reflect on Deception Cove as it was a very entertaining, fun paced, action and mystery set in the future behind the implacable curtain. But do you find yourself almost able to repeat verbatim the rules and refs of marriages, child rearing, and the original colonists intent? Good. I was hoping I wasn't the only one. But! In Deception Cove these descriptions aren't the cut and paste normally done. The rules and explanations are actually incorporated in the action and character motives. So not only one of the better books of the series, it's also a change of explaining the old marriage rules! Definately worth a credit or as I was able to do, Buy it on Sale!
I enjoyed the story. Lots of twists. But, the narrator's choice to pronounce the name of one on the bag guys strangely was distracting. "Whitcomb" should have been pronounced with a silent 'B' and without a pause between syllables: witcome, not wit-comB.
Yes, Jayne Ann Krentz, Jayne Castle, has a great imagination and talent for writing stories that keep your attention. As well as the narrator, Joyce Bean - she does a great job of making each character an individual character, with tone of voice and with emotion.
When Alice and Drake first arrive on Rainshadow Island and have to make camp for the night. They encounter creatures that could only come into being with the exposure of radiation. With detail given to the creatures appearance it is almost as if you are encountering them yourself.
When writing futuristic-paranormal romanaces, Jayne Ann Krentz writes under the pen name 'Jayne Castle'. Having read and listened to many books written under this pen name, I can say the plot line is always different, even if the setting are similar. The character are complex and interesting. The story has your attention as soon as it starts.
Deception Cove: A Rainshadow Novel, Book 2 is no different. The attention to the detail of the characters (appearance and emotion) and the environment (animal and plant) is perfect. If you were to close your eyes while listening you could actually see the imagine in your head.
THE NIGHT THEY SPENT ON THE BEACH PROTECTING EACH OTHER
THE ENDING SCENE
VERY GOOD BOOK I DIDN'T WANT TO PUT IT DOWN. THE SURPRISE WAS AT THE END AND I ENJOYED IT.
