Good read

This is another installment of the Illusion Town series and it's very enjoyable. While the narrator's voice was jarring in the first book it has gotten a lot smoother. Would recommend this series.

Finally!

I love all of Jayne Castle’s series and most of Krentz books and all of the Amanda Quick books. Barbara Rosenblatt is my favorite narrator and I’m so happy that she was chosen for this one, too. I really don’t understand why some of the reviews say that they don’t like her. I think she’s one of the most versatile narrators out there. Some book narrators make every character sound the same! Not so with Rosenblatt.

As for the story, I loved being immersed in it and did have to skip through the parts explaining the backstory of the Curtain, MCs, etc. I loved the little twists in the story as it made the ending interesting.
Don’t want to give spoilers but I like the foreshadowing regarding a certain someone’s progeny and patient megalomania. They may become my favorite villain! Maybe she has an evil animal sidekick? But then I think most animals recognize a bad thing when they see it…
I do wish the shero and hero were more straightforward with each other but the angst is understandable. That tends to be my pet peeve anyway, though, so I have a low tolerance for it. I did want a bit more backstory on Gabriel and Lucy. I guess it is similar to past protagonists so you can extrapolate what the stories are if you’ve read other books. But it would have been nice. Perhaps this book is just to set us up for the other books to follow? Compared to the other stories, the paranormal connection was not played up as much and I did miss that. The fantastical connection is what I love about the series. There was still enough revealed at the end to make me say, “awwww.” Love that part of romance books.

I hope Aidan and Jared get their own story. Would love to see Joe get a side story, too. Veronica was adorable and was elated to see a character like her written in so naturally into the storyline. But I’m not sure if I’d be into the bedroom antics she may be capable of -lol! Not my bag as Austin Powers would say. More power to her, though!

And finally, dust bunnies!!! Otis lives up to the cuteness and sassiness I look forward to in the series. Wouldn’t it be lovely if they were real? What single gal wouldn’t love to be adopted by a db?

Siiiiiigh. Now I eagerly wait for the next book. #patiencepractice

Love Lucy's snark

I really love how sassy, snarky, sarcastic Lucy never stops. I love that she knows she is right and she fights to prove it. I love how Gabriel knows from the beginning that Lucy is the one. I love how they work together to solve the mysteries. I love Veronica and Aiden and Joe and of course Otis. I can not wait for the next Harmony story.

Guild boss

Listening to a book performance by Barbara Rosenblatt is always a delight. Especially for a new Harmony story by Jayne Castle. Otis is a great addition to the collection of dust bunnies. Recommended.

Love the dust bunny

I read all her various series. Jayne is an amazing writer that is able to venture into so many areas, however, the Dust Bunnies are a blast! I hope Jayne continues to write them.

Very very good

I enjoyed the story and the performer. I look for Barbera Rosenblatt and look for books she does. I’ve listened to this audio book many times

Nailed It!

I absolutely love the intro to this story and the rest of the tale does not disappoint.
I’ve listened to this book several times and continue to be amused each time.

Good story

I loved the story. I love the author, Jayne Castle aka Amanda Quick aka Jayne Ann Krentz.
The narration was not nearly as good as in her other works. The voice was entirely too masculine. No attempt was made to modify to different
characters.

A new installment!!!

I have gotten a lot of enjoyment from the entire Harmony book series. I especially enjoyed Rainshadow Island. Naturally, I was excited to discover a new installment, this time in Illusion Town. Jayne's futuristic Syfy / Fantasy adventures are pure entertainment, and who wouldn't want their very own Dust Bunny. I can't forget to mention that Barbara Rosenblat, as narrator, is a personal favorite of mine. I love the unique sound of Barbara's voice. Her heroines exude strength as well as a sultry quality. At the end of the story the characters anticipate future adventures, therefore, I will keep my fingers crossed and hope that means future books as well.

dust bunnies return

Excellent book, so thrilled to be back in the future. Barbara Rosenblat narrating was the icing on the cake. And I hope I'm right in thinking there will be more to come in the battle with Vortex. Thank you Jayne
