Publisher's summary

What if a "Once in a Lifetime" could happen twice? Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable. When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia's life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soul mate. Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift - but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her. But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

Unexpected

I love series books. Especially when there are lots of books in a series. I know I will stay busy.

I started this one and instantly loved it. It had all the makings of a good romance book. Love, angst, heart ache... All of it. I wasn't expecting the twists and turns or the big boom ending.

I did find there to be a few lulls in the story where I felt like it was just filler, no meat but then it would get back on track and I'd forget I was getting agitated. I also felt like there were a few too many directions the plot was attempting to go. Like let's pick 1 or 2 themes and not have all this other stuff that makes you feel lost if you were to try and write a synopsis.

But again, it would get back on course and all was forgiven and forgotten.

I wasn't thrilled with Veronica's performance. Her regular narration was really very good, but the second she would use her "Dahlia voice" it was like nails on a chalkboard. Making her sound ditzy and flighty. I don't feel that was the appropriate tone for this character. Also I feel a little duped because I originally chose this book based on the fact that Christian Fox's voice does stuff to me, only to find out he is only in the last hour or so of the book. Not cool!!

So... Let's sum it up. All in all worth a listen for sure. Don't expect to hear too much of Christian Fox and be prepared for a little whiplash with the plot. But just hang out there, it all comes together in the end and you will be happy you took the time to listen.

Surprised how much I enjoyed this

I was really surprised how much I liked this book. First the narrators we good. I like Veronica Meunch and Christian Fox. Most romance narrators are awful but these two got the tone just right. River Wilde is now one of my favorite romantic leads. It's a great story (gets some tissues for the first few chapters) with a interesting twist at the end.

Narration was dull

The narration was awful. Everyone almost sounded the same to me. Sounded boring but the story was good. I'd rather read this book on my own.

Bravo. A great read with a twist

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I already have. I love the way Kim karr used two narrators and you know what river is thinking

What did you like best about this story?

Everything. I couldn't stop listening

What does Veronica Meunch and Christian Fox bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Their feelings show through. A nice change

Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful book and the characters are true to life. You will love this read and will be surprised without giving you too much info

Love / Hate

I really loved the story line, what I hated was the change in narrator. Veronica was awesome in both Dahlia and River. Christian on the other hand, sucked at both, it really ruined the book for me. I turned it. I don't have time to read, which is why I have audible.

Narration is poor from Veronica.

Story was good but the wrong narrator was selected. You could hear her (Veronica Meunch) taking breathes in-between sections throughout the entire book. It took me out of the story because you can tell she was taking a breathe. I've listened to MANY audio books and never heard this that from a narrator. Christian Fox of course was AWESOME! But he doesn't make a voice appearance until chapter 24. If he narrated the whole book I would have given this book FIVE stars!

Very bad. No character development and formulaic

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone comfortable with the word "adorable" being used 100k times.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something written by Jane Austen to remind me that romance and story are not mutually exclusive...and that some writers have above a 4 th grade vocabulary.

What didn’t you like about Veronica Meunch and Christian Fox ’s performance?

The story and dialogue was so bad that I couldn't even focus on narrator

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Connected?

Any that (again and again?) have either character biting their lips. Seriously.

Any additional comments?

Don't bother with this book.

Love/hate

Loved the actual book, the audiobook isn’t so great the narrators are horrible. Female narrator sounds so nasally and the deep inhales and loud swallows I just can’t.

Tries to hard

This is one of those stories that tries to hard and gives you to much in an attempt to draw emotion out of you. There isn't that natural flow that makes a good story. It just felt to forced.
