What would you do if your life was a lie - and everyone knew but you?

Jane has come a long way from the dark days of the horrific car accident that robbed her of many memories. Living the life of a shopgirl with a charming boyfriend - a handsome, green-eyed doctor named Derek - is so satisfying that she doesn't want to revisit her past.

But the past insists on revisiting Jane. People keep thinking she's Samantha, a dead girl who looks exactly like her. Now, Jane is determined to discover her connection to the girl, leading her to question everything from her relationship with Derek to her own sanity. Should she believe Rory, the man who insists she actually is Samantha? Or should she depend on Derek, who offers her love and shelter...but who may have other reasons for keeping her under wraps? Who is telling her the truth - and what are the others hiding?

Mind Bending

This book was a real mind bender. You have to read it all of the way through to even begin to make sense of it and honestly if you could read it all the way through at one time it would be even better. Picking up on small details within the book are worth remembering as well. What I mean by that are things like these weird trigger words that Jane seems to have. It makes certain memories come to her to help reveal certain aspects of the story later on. I got about 2/3 the way through this one and decided I was good and confused. I almost quit listening to it, but am glad I didn't because much was revealed in the last 10% of the book.
This novel is about a woman named Jane who seems completely normal until two different people call her Samantha Barnes on the same day. It weirds her out and she starts looking online for answers to who this girl is. Apparently she looks just like her, down to the scar on her chin. This scares her even more and her boyfriend, Derek, who is a doctor, tries to calm her down. Eventually he tells her she was Samantha until he made them disappear. It appears that Jane has some unsavory little practices that she does while sleepwalking on occasion. She feels like a monster once he tells her all of this. But then a guy named Rory shows up and tells her how Derek is lying and has manipulated her so much. He tells her that the doctor she has been with for so long is a killer. He kills people and is dang good at it. While she goes through all this she is also dealing with her childhood memories of her father, things she would as soon forget. But nothing is as it seems in this game of "to catch a killer". Beware! This book will give you whiplash from this chick going back and forth on how evil she thinks her boyfriend might be! And there are adult situations so it's not for children! Happy reading! And good luck through the labyrinth of this girl's sick and twisted mind...
Amy Johnson was good with the delivery of the story. Credit worthy IMHO yes but @$7.34 I bought it and the next book in the series..

Down the rabbit hole!

This book was bizarre, mind bending, weird and most definitely confusing!
You have to listen to almost the entire book before it even begins to make sense. Every time I thought I had this one figured out, the author threw a curve ball. It was insane. It was a mental workout keeping it all straight. Even though it was a little hard to follow at times, the ending was the real pay off! It blew me away!

This was a fantastic listen!

A THRILLER FIRST, ROMANCE SECOND & UNREAL THIRD

This is a very very complex, intense, edge of your seat, unpredictable dark thriller/chiller that has many many twists and layers upon layers of intrigue as well as a bitter-sweet romance running through it. I can't and won't even try to begin to describe it except to say it's a mixed up 'brain freeze' of a story that'll hook you in as you try to sift through clues to get to what is and isn't real and you just won't see the surprising WTF, WTHH.... AH-HA & OH, NOW I GET IT of an ending coming..... and it'll blow your mind.

Worth a credit? Told from heroine's POV, a very good narrator and a slow revealing mixed-up plot that was addictive, insane and incredible with romance and sex too. It would definitely be worth a credit but at a bargain price of $7.34 I just bought it saving a credit for a more costly listen. But not for any 'true to life' lover as this is fiction.... imaginary, glorious, undiluted and well written fiction.

Mind twisting

This is a weird, crime thriller with a touch of futuristic science thrown it. It is hard to do a review without spoilers. Things between a husband and wife, who love each other dearly, go terribly wrong when government agencies get involved. A pretty good "out there" mystery surrounding serial killers.

well that was weird

This is possibly the oddest book I have ever listened to. The narrator did a farly good job, but not great. The editing was terrible. And the storyline was bizarre. It had promise for maybe the first 5 or 6 chapters.

good start to good trilogy

I am writing this review after finishing the trilogy. I read the books out of order, but liked it anyway. I suggest reading them in order.

This book is stupid-crazy, but amazingly brilliant

Reading this book, I felt as if I was on a rollercoaster of crazy, but WOW what a ride. If you have ever watched the movie the Sixth Sense and liked it you'll probably like this book is well.

should be in sci-fi category

it was OK. Too complicated. chapter 14, 15 and 16 I had to re-read twice. And the personafication with inanimate objects is ridiculous. TOO much. I've never read so many analogies, metaphors and similes.

Biggest ride of my life

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I had to keep listen to it in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I think this book took me on the biggest roller coaster ride I have been on in a very long time with a book! This story had suspense, intrigue, twist and turns and then the answers to questions that created more questions. Can't wait for part 2 of this ride!

Twists and Turns

I do have to admit this story did not go they way I thought it would. Which of course kept me going in the book. This book was as good a mystery of old. There were many twist and turns. Enough to keep you guessing.
