Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day comes the first novel in the Crossfire series - a provocative masterstroke of abandon and obsession that redefined the meaning of desire, and became a global phenomenon.

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness...

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds...and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart...

incredibly intertaining!

Would you listen to Bared to You again? Why?

Yes

What did you like best about this story?

The story is so interesting and had me hooked for more. While it was definitely a little heavy with their sex scenes, it definitely set the scene of how connected both Ava and Gideon were with each other.

Sooooo much better that FSOG!

What made the experience of listening to Bared to You the most enjoyable?

The story was believable, the characters were flawed and realisitic.

What did you like best about this story?

The connection the author presented between the characters. It made the sex scenes very hot. Even with the issues the main characters had I found myself rooting for them to make it.

What about Jill Redfield’s performance did you like?

Her voice was perfect. She has great inflections. And dang, can she relay a sex scene! I had to stop my ipod a couple of times to cool off!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The reaction to Gideon's dream and what he and Eva had to go through made my heart ache for them. I laughed and almost cried a couple of times.

Any additional comments?

FSOG lacked in romance, and story and hottness. This book has all of that in spades. Gideon is soooo much hotter than Christian Gray. Gideon makes Christian look like a kinky petulant child. The romance is what makes the book sooo hot.

The worst thing about this book is that the other 2 are not out yet. I am dying to know what happens with Cary!

Crossed Off My List!

Any additional comments?

I had previously read the Crossfire books and enjoyed them. However, I couldn't get past Jill Redfield's handling of dialogue between Eva and Gideon. I tried, but she had an underlying snarkiness in her tone that made her Eva came across as a snotty-nosed brat. And I laughed everytime I heard Gideon speak. She made him sound like "Patrick" from SpongeBob! That said, I liked her Monica voice and when she was doing straight narration. It was just the Eva-Gideon exchanges that hit the wrong note. Unfortunately, that comprises the bulk of the two books in the series. I had to return both books after listening to about 20% of the first one.

Hot story line

If you could sum up Bared to You in three words, what would they be?

Hot
Dark
Erotic

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bared to You?

Eva and Gideon's First passionate encounter in the limo. That is when the story line started to heat up and get really good.

What does Jill Redfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love her narrating. You can tell she really got into the story and how she uses her voice to differentiate between the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Eva and Gideon admit they love one another. When they open up to one another in ways that neither one of them think is possible.

Any additional comments?

I have not read Fifty shades so I can not compare this book to that series. I have heard the story line and characters are almost the same so if that is the case then some people might be turned off by this book. However, I think this book is a very passionate and erotic book. But, it also has a great story line and really shows what can happen when two people start to open up there hearts to one another in ways neither one of them thought was possible. I think the narration is also great. Jill does an amazing job. Even if the story is similar to fifty shades it is worth it to at least listen to this book just for her brilliant narration.

Great audiobook!

Absolutely love this audiobook! The Narrator definitely brought something to the storyline.
I have reread these books many times and I absolutely love them. Gideon is the ultimate alpha character. I like that you actually feel the chemistry between Gideon and Eva in the audiobook. There is so much that you actually feel throughout the book. This storyline is not all sunshine and rainbows it is hard and it is painful. It shows that we all have shadows and skeletons in our closet’s and we all deal with pain in different ways. But we all come together in love.
