Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day comes the first novel in the Crossfire series - a provocative masterstroke of abandon and obsession that redefined the meaning of desire, and became a global phenomenon.

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness...

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds...and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart...

Redfield nails Gideon

Well, this was my first foray into erotic fiction. It certainly was hot. I felt Ms. Redfield really nailed the voices of both Eva and Gideon which is not an easy task. This book set the scene for the remainder of the trilogy which followed this pair through numerous ups and downs, and showcased the damage that can be done to a soul from sexual abuse. Both the characters were developed in that light and this was interesting to see. Overall, very enjoyable.

Move over Christian Gray, Gideon Cross is steamin'

Where does Bared to You rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Bared to You is one of the higher ranking books for me, the narrator is great and I enjoyed visualizing through her tones.

What other book might you compare Bared to You to and why?

This book falls inline with 50 Shades of Gray, which I also loved, it had a slightly different twist but I really enjoyed it.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was right after the hotel episode and Eva ran, I was touched by Gideon rushing out to find her followed by taking her home.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The relationship between Eva and Kerry was great.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book, I've listened to it three times now. I can't wait for the third book to come out.

I wanted to slap her.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The female lead was a whiny, ridiculous woman and I found myself shaking my head at her lots. There ware a few places I laughed out loud and the writing was fairly well done.

Has Bared to You turned you off from other books in this genre?

I'm still searching.

Sigh… had promise but FMC failed again…

This book started slowly with too much description… I’ve started and stopped 4 different times but this time I decided to stick it out…

It’s the reason why I prefer M/M books now. They seem more normal and the female protagonist aren’t completely stupid with “good looks.”
It’s so crazy how women can write women this dumb… why? Could she have been somewhat normal? She’d create stupid conflict so she could cry or run away 🙄 and yet I persisted 😆😆😆 the book was “wordy” but couldn’t cover how ridiculous it all is… I love smut and it had some of that but completely overshadowed with this female protagonist…

I’ll share some; this guy is supposed to be a gagillionare and she’s upset that he’s been photographed with women before her OR a woman said something to her? IS her mom really rich? Did she go to any society or those rich dinners? And if she’s as beautiful why didn’t she expect all this? What Magdalena said? It just didn’t connect… she’s just a few screws lose, shallow and self serving… why can’t women be normal? 😖😫😩😣

Like,
Chapter 13 was the dumbest yet…how dumb!!! She drops a bomb and she wants him to look at her with “desire?” Like he hadn’t heard the most horrid things? WTF? This character is so sick! I wish he said go home… he’s also insane 🙄

It’s hard to explain this book and I yearn to read a female protagonist who is normal…and adds spice and the raunchy sex but this girl in this book is always looking for a way out… I wish she got the way out… “I took a risk because I want to be with you!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 an assistant with “hush money?” She likes to run… I wish he let her… it’s hard to feel bad for her… everyone had to be on her schedule… making things as she went… I was about to give up on chapter 13… she ran but expected HIM to have texted or emailed HER?!?!? And she’s disappointed? WTF? Is she 14 navigating life like someone addicted to some stupid romance movie? Why are they written like this? Childish, severely immature, self serving and just all around dumb! Using her “power” other known as vag to get what she wanted… why not just be an open gold digger or go the pretty woman route? But they’re supposed to be “smart?” And everything shows otherwise? UGH I can’t do with fake people, fictional or otherwise…

People who loved this book, where? What part?

Good read

This was a good book. I am now half way through the second book. Keep when mind that this book is an introduction to the story line. This will give you an understanding as to why the author breezed through some parts quickly. The narrator is good and portrays the characters wonderfully. The only somewhat criticism I would make is that it’s a tad annoying how she said “Eva” when reading as Gideon. Fortunately, she does well on the second book.
