Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day comes the first novel in the Crossfire series - a provocative masterstroke of abandon and obsession that redefined the meaning of desire, and became a global phenomenon.

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness...

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds...and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart...

Entreatingly entertaining

I enjoyed it, I wanted a little more suspense though, I rather love a bit more on the edge of your seat.

Saucy story with an hot plot and an okay narrator.

What did you love best about Bared to You?

It's addictive. I finished it in just a few days. The story is very similar to Fifty Shades of Gray so if you liked that, you'll like this. It has a quick romance, where everything happens at lightening speed and you're surprised that only 3 days when there was enough action to fill 3 months, and steamy somewhat controlling sex with both people having issues.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There aren't many characters so I can't really pick a favorite. I like that Ava is made out to be a hard worker and it is refreshing to see her try and stand up to Gideon, but she often gives in which is annoying.

What didn’t you like about Jill Redfield’s performance?

It wasn't necessarily Jill's performance that I didn't like but that she was the only narrator. When she has to do the Gideon's voice it takes away from the steamy moments in the story. Stories like this definitely need two narrators.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I practically did.

Need a guy's voice

Although Jill did a fantastic job narrating as Kate, I think a guy's voice for Cross was still needed. Other than that, the story is really good for what it is, a romance novel.

Couldn't stop listening!

Any additional comments?

I have not listened to FSOG due to the reviews but saw this book so I thought I would give it a try. I couldn't stop listening as the story developed around these two characters. The sex scenes were vivid and erotic without going too far. This is one time I wish I hadn't found the book so soon after it was released. Now I have to wait for the next. It can't come soon enough!!!

Won't disappoint

My favorite series! Each book ends with a cliffhanger, except the last book, where not all loose ends are neatly tied up, but the two main characters get their HEA! There are secondary characters that we are left wondering about, but that just gives me hope that one day the author will write more in the crossfire series!
