Life changing if you're in the place to hear this

Eckhart is wonderful, but he is no narrator, lol. The content of the book is life-changing if it's the right time for you to hear and receive it. Learning mindfulness at this point in my life was transformative. I had been in a deep depression and tried desperately to find a way out for a very long time. I was willing to try anything to come back to life. It wasn't until I finally picked up this book (which I had bought months ago) that I could see hope. When I started practicing being the "listener" to my thought stream, I felt a distinct internal shift. That gave me momentum and I developed a determination to learn and practice mindfulness. As I intentionally pulled myself back to the present a hundred times a day, something miraculous happened. My suffocating anxiety literally disappeared. I could see clearly the thoughts and beliefs that were causing the anxiety, and the anxiety was largely responsible for the reactive "shutting down" which had dropped me into the depression. I began to feel better. A lot better. And I had a powerful tool to use when anxiety creeped in. I took mindfulness further as I practiced the method Eckhart teaches on "feeling your internal aliveness". It's tough to do at first but after a few days of practicing this, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling distinct JOY! Imagine having no will to live for a very long time and all of a sudden feeling legitimate joy. ineffable. for the next week I felt actually happy and content for the first time in about 2 years. It was like being underwater drowning and finding a way to the surface to breathe for the first time in years.
So yes. I highly recommend this book. If you're in the place to learn this information and you're willing to begin consistently practicing it's teachings, I truly believe it will change your life too.

The most important book.

Anyone suffering, which is all humanity to some extent, needs to read this book. Gratitude.

Nice book, awful narration

The kind of information that can be summarized in a few pages using bullets.
The narration voice is one of the worse I've encountered.

I couldn't put it down.

Once I started, I couldn't put the book down. It ended up resonating to me. To the point that a few chapters where about me...

Long but good.

The book has helpful information. Tolle's voice remains monotone while reading but details kept me interested.

Great idea, few suggestions

I appreciate the concept of the power of now as a means to release oneself from the mental anguish of our consciousness and situations. I found the book extremely helpful. I had a few thoughts that would make the book even more appealing. If possible, I would add were more specific examples that would help to translate the concepts presented to real life situations. For example, difficulties in the workplace or school with competition or undermining of character or strife between parent and child.

Also, those individuals who may benefit from this book the most may be those individuals who have a difficult time translating the language used into concepts that could be absorbed into daily living. That is, at times the language used can be difficult to follow and requires rereading sometimes multiple times. For those who have a difficult time processing language it may be difficult for them to sustain attention, tease apart the meaning in the sentences then apply it to their life. Maybe the author could consider a simpler rewrite with shorter messages that can be absorbed more easily. Thank you for writing about a great concept.

Excellent

I loved the book, it was just what I needed for this moment of my life, although I think the chapter change sounded very sharp and the voice was too calm and expressionless to sleep.
