Publisher's summary

Sometimes the walls we build to save ourselves have to come tumbling down.

For the last 10 years, Huey has built his life around his sobriety. If that means he doesn't give a damn about finding love or companionship for himself, well, it's probably better that way. After all, the last thing he wants is to hurt anyone else. Until Felix Rainey walks into his bar, fresh-faced, unbearably sweet - and, for some reason Huey can't fathom, interested in him.

As the eldest of five kids, Felix Rainey spent his childhood cooking dinner, checking homework, and working after-school jobs. Now in his twenties, he's still scrambling to make ends meet and wondering what the hell he's doing with his life. When he meets Huey, he's intimidated...and enamored. Huey's strong and confident, he owns his own business-hell, he's friends with rock stars. What could he ever see in Felix?

As Huey and Felix get closer, the spark catches and soon they can't get enough of each other. But Huey's worked hard to avoid intimacy, and Felix threatens his carefully constructed defenses. Huey realizes he needs to change if he wants to truly put his past behind him-and build a future with Felix.

Contains mature themes.

KIRT GRAVES SHOULD HAVE PERFORMED SOLO!!

The story is pretty good. It's very relationship based with lots of feels. Not much else going on. What almost ruined the story for me though was Tor Thom's narration. His constant intake of breath was irritating and his performance was robotic. Kirt Graves on the other hand was more than excellent. He should have done this audio SOLO!!! He gave each character a very distinctive voice. A voice that matched their personalities.
The audio needs to be redone. I'm seriously considering returning this one, because I don't see myself listening to it again.

Loved

This isn’t a fast pace lots of suspense drama type of book but it had me tingling with more feels than I’ve gotten from a book in a long time.

Not a huge Tor Thom fan, more because of his secondary character voices but adore Kirt Graves.

Steamy, Swoony, & More!

I blew through all 3 books in this series! While book 2 remains my favorite, Dane & Felix are so swoon worthy. They both have so much growth to do, and again the author is a master of character development. It’s strangers to lovers, age gap, size difference, the quiet sober one, and the lost one. They both have to figure out who they are now after changes in their lives. The spice is also amazing and the level of intimacy this whole series has is off the charts! The narrators did a fantastic job at bringing this story to life!

Loved it ❤️

I just wrote a lengthy review that the Audible interface just erased. *Sigh... Just read the book. Or listen to the audio. It's seriously amazing and deserving of your time.

Tor Is an Aural Drink of Iced Tea!

Tor, Tor, Tor! My, my... what your voice does to me! His voice reaches into my very soul and makes everything right. Why do I constantly blush when listening?

Loved the story. New to me author.

New to Kirt Graves. Strong performance. Beautiful voice.

So far I'm not a fan of Tor Thom

This was so, so good!
It took me awhile to get into this because I was really nervous about the entire “sobriety” thing that is a recurring theme in the series but – though it is definitely a main theme – it almost took a back seat to the really sweet and awkward romance between these two totally mismatched heroes.

I loved that Felix had to really dig deep and find his own happiness and how Huey had to admit his “patterns” were no longer helpful.

The heat is just right – a fair amount of steam but this is really more about the feels.

Highly recommended! I think it’s best when read as part of the series but it can absolutely stand on its own.

Audio

I really enjoyed Kirt Graves’ part of this narration, he does a nice job as Felix – high strung and energetic. I wasn’t a huge fan of Tor Thom. On the one hand he did fit Huey but it was harder to listen to him because I felt like I wanted him to be less clunky in my ear and his breathing bothered me.

In any case, it’s a wonderful way to experience this story.

Well

Series was not as good as I expected, but not bad. Kirt Graves made Huey sound like a gentle creepy giant and Tor Thom, well….
