Publisher's summary

Fresh off his victory at the System Games, Anthony Tinoco is living a life he never could have dreamed of. His family is safe in a brand-new home, he's enrolled in college, he has an incredibly hot girlfriend, and, best of all, he gets to fight monsters for a living.

Unfortunately, some things are too good to last. Unbeknownst to Anthony, an old enemy has started making moves from the shadows, sowing seeds of destruction, and plotting his revenge.

When a random dungeon appears and begins spreading its corrupting influence through his old neighborhood, Anthony is forced to confront his own personal demons and take action or risk losing everything that he’s worked so hard for.

Little does he know, however, that while he may be the target, he's not the one in the crosshairs.

Mejia was slow to bring this awesome book to us

It was however worth the wait. I really enjoyed the further adventures of this lovable foolish teen. Really fun book and the mistakes he makes are somewhat painful to have to listen too. Oh to be a foolish young man.

Good follow up to the original

no spoilers. I really enjoyed the book overall. The story had a pretty good pace I thought and my only real complaints were that, it seemed too short and that several things that happened during the first book were repeated more than a couple of times. saying something once as a refresher is fine because it's been a long time since book one was released but it started to feel a bit agitating "we get it, you vape." I do like the duration the book is going and I am looking forward to the next one. Narrator (Jill I believe) did an excellent job. Being a native Spanish speaker I cringed at a few of the pronunciations, but I can't fault her for that.

how is the Mc so whiny

I guess I bought the first book and I absolutely loved it. but the second book is just horrible it was a struggle to get through and to be honest the main character just graded on my nerves in this book all he did was whine and never really learned anything
