Publisher's summary

In order to find love, you have to take a chance. You have to open yourself up to the possibility of being hurt. You have to expose yourself in a way that you usually wouldn't; allow others to see vulnerabilities that you try to hide.

Journalist Aria Smith tried that three years ago and it ended in disaster. Now, she's just trying to focus on moving up the ladder in her career. She's just been handed the most coveted interview in sports writing, so it looks like she's well on her way.

Basketball star Tory Barker is fresh off of a championship season and is in high demand right now. He's riding high off of his success, avoiding drama as he does so. His usually introverted and stress-free lifestyle is upset when he comes face to face with Aria. She's everything he never knew he wanted and everything he plans to get.

Aria's not sure she's ready for the likes of Tory. Yes, he's a sweetheart and easy to talk to. However, living life in the limelight was never her dream. Nor, was dating a basketball player. She's throwing up strong blocks every time he makes a move. Tory knows she's worth it and is more than ready to play for her love. Can he win is the question....

Contains mature themes.

Great story but…

I enjoyed the book, however, both narrators were horrible and a little cringy. One sounded like a robot and the man’s voice just did not match. Glad to see the next book has different narrators.

Challenging Fears against Love

To start I read the second book in series first. Which was ok until I realized the ending of first book wasn’t picked up in second book. Just a few more pages to this ending would have been great.

Overall this was an excellent story - challenging a fear was a lot more detailed than I expected - it was beautifully done. Trigger warning.

Tory was outstanding. Seeing a man hold his own in pride and character was refreshing. His patience and devotion was admirable. I would love to see more Tory’s in the world.

Good book bad narrators

The voices did not match this book. The female sounds automated at times. They did not do this book justice!

Good story

Good story but I didn't care for the narrators. Their voices didn't match the characters. Glad that she changed narrators for the 2nd book in the series.

Voice doesn’t match the story line

Overall this was a clean storyline. The narrator wasn’t the best for this book. The ending could have been better as well.

Good Story Not Quite the Right Female Narrator

Much like others I didn't care for the female narration. The cover has 2 African American people but the narrator sounds Caucasian. The story was a good one though.

Narrator Nightmare

This was the first audio book that I wished I had just read the printed pages. It was hard to get into the story because the narrators were bad. The voices didn’t match the characters. The dialogue and choice of words did not match the culture either.
