A good place to start.

This is a good beginner-level guide to getting off the grid and living a simpler life. The book isn't very long but it's packed with information that newbies will find invaluable. I hope the author follows this up with a more in-depth study, but this is a very good place to start.

The book is informative and written in language that is understandable by laypeople that have never lived off-grid. The author shares how he started his off-grid journey with the triumphs and roadblocks faced in the first year and beyond.

understandable

Like many of those who are feeling apprehensive about life in a big city these days, I'm quite fascinated with the concept of off-grid living. This book is an excellent introduction to this idea, with advice about the building process, planning, and practical steps to achieve this dream.

Off the Grid Living

This was not the audible I expected it to be and that's not a bad thing. I had expected it to be a doomsday prepper-themed listen and discovered it is more geared to people who want to be off the power grid and live a life that leads to being a good steward of our planet and resources. The book outlines all of the processes and stresses of doing extensive research before putting out any significant amount of money, which I really liked. If you are someone who has been toying with the idea or who is embarking on doing so, listening to this audible would be the best first thing to do.

it’s that good!

This audiobook has a lot of useful knowledge for someone thinking of going off-grid for the first time. It focuses on design, cost, planning. It does not go into any phase of growing your own food but most everything else is covered.

Enlightening audible!

I wanted I had this audiobook when I first moved off-grid to Maui. But while it's a little short and undeveloped, the info inside was effective and reliable.

Thank u

I especially liked how he cut out all of his unnecessary expenses leading up to going off-grid. It really is a minimalistic existence. This book did not glorify the lifestyle and it expressed the difficulty of living off-grid. It did not disappoint. I recommend anyone thinking of living off-grid to listen to this book first.

brilliant

This audible has terrific information for anyone considering off-grid living. The best part was that the author doesn't sugarcoat anything and makes it seem easier than it really is. I work in the solar industry and that piqued my interest in this book for the environmental aspect but the aspect of privacy also comes into play as well.
