Publisher's summary

"I’m just not that creative” is a common refrain in today’s society. But according to author and creative coach Jacob Nordby, nothing could be further from the truth. Every human being is creative, and having a regular creative practice is a vital key to a happy and fulfilling life.

If we don't exercise our creativity regularly, our lives can feel dull, stagnant, and rote. Many people live this way and believe “this is just the way life is”, without realizing that developing a regular creative practice can be the cure to what ails them.

Nordby knows this all too well. By the time he reached his mid-thirties, he was running a successful mortgage company and lived in a big house with fancy cars. But he felt like he was dying inside. Starting and maintaining a creative practice is what saved his life. Now, in this powerful book, he explains how he traded in his stagnant way of life for one full of meaning and purpose and offers specific steps to help you build your own creative practice.

The Creative Cure is a call for a revolution, fostering change where all change must begin: within. This internal change will allow you to express your own creative gifts, cultivate happiness, and experience the unique feeling of fulfillment that only a creative practice can offer.

Packed with powerful, transformative exercises, this book is the medicine you need to find and reinvigorate your creative soul.

I’m listening a second time

I listened the first time as I was doing different activities... walking, cleaning, etc. I realized about halfway through that I would need to listen again, and listen more mindfully. Just about every paragraph of every chapter has nuggets that I want to remember and write down.
It’s a must-listen for anyone who feels stuck not only with their own sense of creativity, but those who may be in a rut and need a new way to look at their own well-being.
The author’s narration was the icing on the cake, very calm and soothing. Recommend.

Magic

I listened to this audible version of Jacob Nordby’s new book and was mesmerized. I could not turn it off! The challenge to experience my own creativity and, in so doing, be cured of lethargy and mediocrity, was magical. I was challenged and inspired. Projects that I had put aside came to mind. I literally felt energized! The author’s narration was a gift! I highly recommend this remarkable book.

An unexpected surprise

I had some misconception about this book but after putting on my headphones for a road trip, I found myself in severally Aha moments.. even some tears as I struggled through enlightenment. I have been on a personal self awareness journey for 8 years and this book came at a time where I have been questioning so many of my life's decisions. I would highly recommend this book(or audio). exceptionally well written and a true testimony of finding your own personal path of Joy and Creativity. Excited to start putting some of these tools to use.
