Publisher's summary

He’s a hockey star. And he’s my daughter’s hero. And now he’s…my boyfriend?

When Jase Kelly scores his fourth professional hat trick, it’s more than just a career highlight. In one of the hats raining down onto the ice, there’s a note from two fans—a girl whose migraines keep her from coming to games, and her dad, who hopes to get her an autograph for her birthday.

Devin McKenzie just hopes for a signature or maybe a chance for his daughter to meet her favorite player. Instead, Jase Kelly pulls out all the stops to give Dallas an evening of hockey, autographs, and all the souvenirs she can carry. She’s beyond starstruck. And Devin? Being starstruck wouldn’t make his heart race like this…would it?

Jase only wanted to cheer up a fan. He never expected to be so attracted to her dad. One look at Devin, though, and he’s speechless. And suddenly a lot more certain than he’s ever been about his sexuality.

Once they connect, they’re so good together it’s almost effortless…as long as Jase keeps Devin from seeing how the slightest bit of stress—or even nothing at all—can reduce him to shaking and hyperventilating. Meanwhile Devin desperately hopes that this one time, he’s found someone who won’t bolt from the reality of dating a parent of a child with chronic health issues.

They won’t be able to keep those cards hidden forever, though. Sooner or later, their respective truths will come to light.

Fate brought them together. Can love save them from falling apart?

Superb read!

I adored this audio! This is my first time reading a dual narration and it rocked! The fact that one of the main characters has a child with sensory issues was very interesting to me. That alone made taught me something new. The storyline is excellent and the characters well developed. This is a re read for me as I own the ebook!

LOVE

Great story about working together to help each other. Daily life of taking care of others can be draining and very few can deal with the stress and anxiety of the ups and downs.

Great Duet Narration

I was looking for easy listening when I saw the narrators for this book. L.A. Witt chose well. The MC's had to work for their HEA, but it was worth the listen.

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, interesting story.
As i'm getting older i'm enjoying stories with character out of their 20's. I enjoyed Name from a Hat Trick. I liked that Devin's life isn't perfect, that his Kid's happiness and her health is what's most important to him, and I liked the glimpse we get of what life is like for those with sensitivity issues.

🎧 Narrator comment: I love both Greg Boudreaux and Michael Ferraiuolo as narrators, they are both incredibly talented voice actors which is reflected in their performances in this story. The "feel" of the characters is similar enough that there isn't that jarring difference in voices as is often the case with multi-narrator books. That being said - I feel this book would have been better with just one of the narrators - multi-narrator performances for M/M with so many talented voices actors available these days is unnecessary.

Heartfelt story but drags a little

loved the characters and the sensitive way the author approached chronic illness, anxiety and parenting. As usual with this author, though, the story drags a lot from characters over explaining their thoughts and feelings. It gets repetitive and needs more showing and less telling.

still, the story was sweet and had a satisfying HEA and the narrators are an absolute treat to listen to.

Cute premise original!

I liked this one, the storyline was definitely original and had me considering all the stimulus affected people and how hard it must be to live normally. Jace's anxiety was a big issue and I loved the HEA. I did think that some of the internal monologues got a bit repetitive, but loved the story anyway. Both narrators did an excellent job.

Well done

I’d like to commend the author on a well-written story full of a lot of information on both migraines and anxiety. The scent sensitivity issue is real. I suffer from migraines and being Sensitive to perfumes, colognes, and other triggering sense is a real issue.

The story itself between Jase and Devon is sweet. Both of them are flawed but realize that in order to stay together they must acknowledge their flaws and fix them. I really enjoyed their journeys together and separately. I loved the character Dallas. A lot of times in books children can be precocious and annoying, but she seemed to be a well written and true to life 12 year old.

Love how they handled the relationships, the respect shown for the mental health issues and of course the narration was totally superb.
