Supernatural, paranormal fix I needed.

I did not know what to expect when I first started this book. I just knew I had ran through so many supernatural thriller, romance, and mystery series and I was running out. This story has it all and I love it. I particularly like that there is a strong female lead with survival instincts and values family. 💪🏽

Great start to the series!

I am loving more Black heroines in these urban fantasy series! I have loved UF’s for many years and have long wanted to see us kick ass with the rest of the ladies. This was a great start and I am excited for the next book.
Story is solid. World building is good but I would love more descriptions of the towns (my own preference). I really like the characters and want to know more about each one of them. The narrator did a solid job but some of the male voices were hard to distinguish at times. Not a dealbreaker at all. I love the representation of many types of humans and paranormal beings. Downloading the next one now!

Great story!

I really enjoyed this story. The narrator was great and the overall story was excellent. The characters were well developed and complex, the story world was detailed and the plot drew me in. I can't wait to read/listen to the next book!

I could not put this book down. I am so happy that I found this series. I canqt wait to read more!

Wow, What A Read

Enjoyed the book, hated the end. Would have wanted to hear the voice of the reader match the voice of the created character. Great but sad story, wonderful characters. Ok, I'm hooked what's the next book in line as this has GOT TO be a series. With the way it ended there is no way an author would leave the audience hanging like that.

Enjoyable

I liked the concept and there were plenty of twists. I also liked the variety of characters. My main issue was with the performance. Sometimes it was hard to tell the characters a part. And the audio seemed too sped up. I had to decrease the speed to 85% just to make it more manageable to listen to. I will listen to the next book in the series.

Good listen

I think the listener will enjoy where this story is taking the audience. I’ve personally enjoyed the fact that there is a good number of people of color in this book. One of the fascinating these I find about this story is that prejudice never goes away. It will sadly remain a part of the human condition. Well worth the listen.

Needs a better narrator!

I loved the story but the narrator ruined it for me. Her pacing was off and I could her breathing and swallowing. Pauses were taken in word places. Just all around wrong.
