Publisher's summary

When a commercial airliner is blown out of the sky off the East Coast, the CIA scrambles to find the perpetrators. A body is discovered near the crash site with three bullets to the face: the calling card of a shadowy international assassin. Only agent Michael Osbourne has seen the markings before - on a woman he once loved.

Now, it's personal for Osbourne. Consumed by his dark obsession with the assassin, he's willing to risk his family, his career, and his life - to settle a score...

Critic reviews

"The prose is slick, and readers will find themselves racing through these pages as the body count grows and the conclusion nears. The Mark of the Assassin is a worthy effort from a rising star." (Amazon.com review)

Good book but stop doing the voices

The narration when done regular voice is great but he made my hate all the female characters because he did voices and accents for them. Why can't books just be read and not acted?

Funniest Silva description ever

I like Silva's stories - the adventure, the action and his descriptions! But this book has a passage describing dinner that is served while the hero is visiting at a private home. It is the funniest section I have ever heard, this part alone is worth the books price.

Cliche story

Super secretive organization in cahoots with bad Republicans and international terrorists plus super rich DC liberal insiders who are beautiful and wonderful

Golden retrievers?

I could not give this book more than 3 stars because too many innocent dogs were shot. It’s too sad. Just stick to killing the bad people please!

Very well written and narrated

Enough detail that I knew just how people were killed but not enough to make me sick. Hard to believe there are people in the world who do this.

GREAT book - HORRENDOUS narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of The Mark of the Assassin to be better than the print version?

Absolutely not.

What did you like best about this story?

The plot - the characters

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His character voices were so bad that I seriously considered just giving up on it. Especially the female characters.

very good spy thriller.

Overall this is a very engaging and well-written book. it takes a while for it to get going. in the beginning, almost every chapter feels like an introduction and analysis of a new character. But once it kicks into gear it's a fun story in the classic spy genre.

Hard to put down!

This was an excellent, suspenseful tale from first to last. I highly recommend it, and hope to read many more by Daniel Silva.
