Publisher's summary

Tightly written thrillers like The Marching Season have made best-selling novelist Daniel Silva a favorite of readers everywhere. In The Kill Artist, he paints an absorbing portrait of a reluctant hero’s attempt to thwart an old enemy to preserve a precarious peace.

After the assassination of his wife and son, Gabriel Allon retires from his brutal anti-terrorist career and loses himself in his previous cover job: art restoration. But when Tariq al-Hourani, the Palestinian terrorist responsible for his family’s death, begins a killing spree designed to destroy Middle East peace talks, Gabriel once again slips into the shadowy world of international intrigue. In a global game of hide-and-seek, the motives of Gabriel and Tariq soon become more personal than political.

Filled with vivid action and a fascinating cast of supporting characters, The Kill Artist delivers pulse-pounding suspense, carried to a startling climax by the tension-packed narration of George Guidall.

A Thrilling Story

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes,it was a good listen. It didn't drag and was easy to follow.

What other book might you compare The Kill Artist to and why?

The Lion of Babylon, it was also fast paced and easy to follow. Also it was an interesting story.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I don't really know this only the second book that was NOT Adventures in Odyssey from Focus on the Family.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I don't go to movies. I would buy it on dvd though

Any additional comments?

I like this author, I will probably listen to all his books. He is not boring.

Great spy thriller in the spirit of Ludlum

When a friend recommended Silva to me, I thought this would be a great follow-on to the Ludlum novels I enjoyed when I was young. Truth be told, I think they are just as good storywise, but better for me personally since I remember much of the world in which the novels take place.

Truth and fact overlap in many shades of gray, as you would expect in a spy novel. The story moves along at a great pace, no slow points in the plot or strange jumps in logic. The characters unfold nicely, with just the right amount of detail. I'm looking forward to reading the remaining books in this series starring Gabriel Alon.

Kudos also to the narrator. Seems like it would be hard to differentiate between so many characters from the same region of the world, but Guidall uses pace, volume, and speech variations to make it really easy to identify characters.

Excellent Narration

Great Intrigue and twists. Was a bit difficult to follow at first with the size of the cast of characters but then they were each developed well throughout the story.

This reader is my favorite. He’s great with different voices, accents, nuance etc. I don’t remember him never having messed up in the books I’ve hear him read. Great story, as well. Interesting twist.

Lovely to Read Gabriel Allin's 1st book!

Lovely to read Gabriel Allin's 1st book! I love this narrator and, having read the latest 1st in this series, this was pure delight. Fans of Craig Johnson's folksy thriller style will love it. Thriller fans looking for exceptionally strong character driven plots without the Hollywood blow them up scenes will equally enjoy it. I can't imagine a greater character to devour by the fire than this.

The ending for the kill Artist sucks

I can’t believe Gabriel didn’t hook up with Jaqueline in the end so I will never read another book by this author. This was my first and last.

One of Silva's Best

If you are a fan of Silva's books, you will not be disappointed. Terrific characters and enough plot twists to keep the reader/listener fully engaged.
