Had a hard time putting it down!

Excellent story. Progressed nicely with good character development. I've read other Andrea Kane books but this is the first one that I've bought on Audible.

A Breath of Fresh Air!!!

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. The plot was very interesting and gripping. Its been a while since we've had a new Andrea Kane book to enjoy and I was not disappointed. This is definitely the first book in a new series and I look forward to reading/listening to more about the characters in this cast.

This story is more suspense than romance and that is a good (love my romance!). I only have two "complaints" about the book - 1) though very well written - and it somewhat understandable in a first in series book - there were a lot of characters introduced, but not much in-depth revelation as to who they are. The pro about that is that the storyline was center-focus and not the cast...but...I like to connect with the characters and that was hard to do...though what we did learn of them was very enjoyable. 2) The narrator - this is not a slight and really goes back to #1 - the narrator did a good job reading the book - but I think (for me) I would have enjoyed a female narrator more or someone who distinguishes the cast through tone of voice. With what he was given to work with, I think he did a great job.

The plot more than made up for these "short-coming" and though I did guess "who-dun-it" half-way through - I did enjoy listening to the story unfold. If you are fan of Criminal Minds, the In-Death Series, or the like...this book should be enjoyable for you (but without the character development). :)

In a selection filled with Vampires and Werewolves (not knocking it, its just not for me) - this was a breath of fresh air!!! I give it 4.5 stars!! (Audible - hint, hint!!)

Good, not great.

Any additional comments?

I always jump to the additional comments section because I don't like the boxes they want you to fill out when reading a review. Anyway, this book is good -- can't say great. It is definitely weird!

I knew the ending within the first 2 chapters, so will you -- but it was worth hanging in there to the end to see how the author wrapped it up. It was interesting...not a favorite, but also not a disappointment. Average.

Can't wait for the second book in this series!!

I have enjoyed some of the author's other books. When I saw that this was the first in a series, I bought it. I thoroughly enjoyed the book! I really like books in a series with the same characters and character development. The story had twist and turns and kept me listening so that I had to finish it in a day and a half! I think Andrea Kane introduced us to all of the characters, the roles they play, as well as to leave us anticipating future cases. The narrator did a good job with character changes and made it an easy listen. I can not wait for the second book!!

Hope there are more to come!

Would you listen to The Girl Who Disappeared Twice again? Why?

Yes, I found the story flowed well. It was read so the female voices didn't sound like the voices.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Casey is because she is not a me,me person. She wants to help and doesn't care about the glory.

Have you listened to any of Jim Colby’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but unfortunately I could not. Luckily I could rewind a few minutes to refresh the story
line where I left off.

Any additional comments?

Although, I very much enjoyed the book, it was predictable.

The Girl Who Disappeared Twice

LOVED the story - great plot, but I DO NOT like this narrator - his cadence is all wrong. Why does no one "proof" his performance before release? Overall rating would have been a 5 star but for the narrator.

I loved this book

If you could sum up The Girl Who Disappeared Twice in three words, what would they be?

A page turner

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. I so wanted to console the mothers and the kids

Which scene was your favorite?

When finally the girls were found and love was shown to the first brainwashed victim instead of vengeance .

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I don't know what the tag line would be

Any additional comments?

I was so afraid that the kidnappers were going to physically hurt the girls. I never dreamed that brainwashing the first victim would cause the second kidnapping

Narrator not right for this book.

Good writing which held my interest throughout but the narrator ruined this book for me. It was like listening to Captain Kirk with dramatic pauses in the middle of sentences where none was needed; very little enthusiasm coming through in the reading. This book deserved better narration. : (

Narrator lost me

I listened to the first hour bit couldn't get past the narrator's choppy, wooden reading. Gave up.
