Publisher's summary

James Stark, a.k.a. Sandman Slim, crawled out of Hell, took bloody revenge for his girlfriend’s murder, and saved the world along the way. After that, what do you do for an encore? You take a lousy job tracking down monsters for money. It’s a depressing gig, but it pays for your beer and cigarettes. But in L.A., things can always get worse.

Like when Lucifer comes to town to supervise his movie biography and drafts Stark as his bodyguard. Sandman Slim has to swim with the human and inhuman sharks of L.A.’s underground power elite. That’s before the murders start. And before he runs into the Czech porn star who isn’t quite what she seems. Even before all those murdered people start coming back from the dead and join a zombie army that will change our world and Stark’s forever.

Death bites. Life is worse. All things considered, Hell’s not looking so bad.

More mayhem? Try another eerie earful of Sandman Slim.

Critic reviews

"Profane, intensely metaphoric language somehow makes self-tortured monster Stark sympathetic and turns a simple story into a powerful noir thriller." ( Publishers Weekly)

The Sandman Slim saga continues...

With Mason dead Starke can relax a little, or so he thinks...until a strange object that he finds in the possesion turns out to be the end of another very long supernatural thread. Traversing heaven, hell and all places in between, he's off to save the world (and possibly the universe) again...

Zombies and Elivis? Huh?

Let me get something out of the way, I don't like zombie stories. I really like this book though. The zombies are used in a great way as to carry the story forward without spending a ton of time on killing or drama about having to run away from them. The main characters get futher depth in this book as the added characters bring their own to the overall story.

A real shiny part of this story is the protrayal of Lucifier. There is a joker-like quality to this Lucifier. I won't spoil anymore, go read for yourself.

Dark Dresden

If you loved the Dresden Files you'll love this series. It's one of my top 3 series and have listen to each multiple times. The dark hero genre has alway appealed to me and this more than meets my expectations.

sandman slim is at it again

the narrator I had to get used to, but once I gave him a chance he does Stark really well. I came from Marsters and Jim Butcher so that's probably part to do with it. Style is different, but Andrew's gets into stride and keeps the story flowing at breakneck pace! This book is really good, I usually love the second book in a series so I may be biased, but Slim amd his world grow and get better and better the more you listen/read. Highly recommend the book. check out my WoW guild on emerald dream <Kill The Dead> if you want to play! enjoy!

Lucifer needs a body guard

Stark, our monster killing, bounty hunting Nephilim purged from hell to do Lucifer’s bidding; for a price of course, we all have to live and pay bills. In this volume Lucifer heads to Hollywood for a movie to be made of his life. In human form Lucifer needs a body guard and Sandman Slim fits the bill perfectly. Stark hates the work, but Lucifer pays well and as said we all have bills to pay. While in Hollywood Stark meets porn star Brigitte Bardot and has a very rewarding experience. After eleven years of celibacy it’s real rewarding! Things don’t continue to go well though. Zombies appear on the scene and unfortunately Brigitte and Stark are bitten. The reaction to the bite for Stark is not so pleasant. It’s killing his human side and the angel side is getting quite grim and treacherous. Stark naturally feels less conflicted. The doc, Kinsky offers to help Stark, but he’s not so sure he wants help. How will this turn out? Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion.
