Charley Davidson isn’t your everyday, run-of-the-mill grim reaper. She’s more of a paranormal private eye/grim reaper extraordinaire. However, she gets sidetracked when the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, moves in next door. To further complicate matters, Reyes is her main suspect in an arson case. Charley has vowed to stay away from him until she can find out the truth... but then dead women start appearing in her apartment, one after another, each lost, confused, and terrified beyond reason.
When it becomes apparent that her own sister, Gemma, is the serial killer’s next target Charley has no choice but to ask for Reyes’ help. Arsonist or not, he’s the one man alive who could protect Gemma no matter who or what came at her. But he wants something in return. Charley. All of her, body and soul. And to keep her sister safe, it is a price she is willing to pay.
Charley Davidson is at it again in Fifth Grave Past the Light, the sexy, suspenseful, and laugh-out-loud funny fifth installment of the New York Times best-selling series by Darynda Jones.

I'm really enjoying this series. There are several things I find a bit annoying, however, Lorelei King's performance does much to overcome the author's eccentricities. I enjoy the author's sense of humor but wish she didn't beat some of her jokes over the head until you wish they would pass through Charlie. Due to King's performance I will probably continue this series for at least one more book.
This author is fantastic! The narrator is just as good. I look forward to my commute to work each day so I can listen to my audio book. I am addicted to the series!
This series is hugely fun. Charlie is a wacky, irreverent and strangely believable paranormal private eye. Loralei is an amazing narrator. Thank god there are more books in the series.
I am absolutely taken with t he characters, the humor, and story line. I feel robbed when a story ends, as if best friends left town forever. I so look forward to the next one in the series.
This one diffidently picks up and runs with the ball. The ending is a great cliff hanger but satisfying none the less. The character developing for everyone in the book is progressing beautifully. And Charlie! She is finally adapting and becoming a little harder. You are seeing her transform as she grows into being a reaper and learning the ropes. I would think that would make anyone change, evolve, and grow.
Some really deep "oh no Charlie!" scenes in this too. Like Oh it that really going to happen.... And again, more feelings with the departed. The author is fantastic at covering every aspect of emotions in a book. The performance as always, brilliant!
I truly think this would make a great T.V. series. As long as they actually follow the darn books that is, not take the name and the characters general idea and run with it. No actually let Charlie and all of them come to life. It would be awesome!
I drive I listen!
I just found out about this author and I bought the whole series before I finished the first. Thrilling, funnier than funny and complete heart thumper.
