Charley Davidson isn't your everyday, run-of-the-mill grim reaper. She's more of a paranormal private eye/grim reaper extraordinaire. However, she gets sidetracked when the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, moves in next door. To further complicate matters, Reyes is her main suspect in an arson case. Charley has vowed to stay away from him until she can find out the truth…but then dead women start appearing in her apartment, one after another, each lost, confused, and terrified beyond reason. When it becomes apparent that her own sister, Gemma, is the serial killer's next target Charley has no choice but to ask for Reyes' help. Arsonist or not, he's the one man alive who could protect Gemma no matter who or what came at her. But he wants something in return. Charley. All of her, body and soul. And to keep her sister safe, it is a price she is willing to pay.

Charley Davidson is at it again in Fifth Grave Past the Light, the sexy, suspenseful, and laugh-out-loud funny fifth installment of the New York Times bestselling series by Darynda Jones.

So Spunky!

Any additional comments?

I own all of this series in print, but listened to them again when I discovered them on Audible. I love the stories and main character's sense of humor. She just cracks me up! Very enjoyable, with wit and sarcasm to make you smile!

:-)

The narrator is FAB! I like the storyline, but sometime find the silliness of Charley a bit frustrating.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SERIES!

What made the experience of listening to Fifth Grave Past the Light the most enjoyable?

Charlie Davidson's humor and flippant attitude and there is lots of Reyes, and the storyline was great...as usual.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Reyes. I think I'm in love. He is so loving and sexy, but a cold and ruthless at the same time. You never really know if he is acting in Charlie's best interest.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Charlie. She is fun, strong and does her own thing. She is not sitting at home waiting for a call from Reyes or following him around. Her feeling she is not worthy of love makes her endearing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Reyes kisses Cookie in front of all the women in the bar and later makes it clear that he is Charlie's man. Also when Swopes does the big reveal.

Any additional comments?

These books are so much fun. I can't wait for the next one.

Back at it again, and again

I freaking love this series! I am listening for the 3rd time in the last 2 years. Lots of twists and turns. You don't always know what is coming and I love that. Too many books are like so many others or you already know what is going to happen without finishing it. Boring! This is not that kind of book. This author has such an awesome and relatable character base as Charley and her friends take the cake. Personality wise, she says out loud what we all just think. Hilarious and fun! Keeps you on your toes. Love this author and one of my all time favorite narrators. I highly recommend!

Best Series EVER!!!

I can't say enough how much I love this series. Just start at book one and keep listening you will not be disappointed. This series just keeps getting better. Charley learns more about herself and Reyes in every book and I am excited to see where things will go from here. Daryanda Jones is the best with witty, sexy and spunky. Lorelei King is also one of the best narrators and she does this series so well. This pair is a winner. I just wish these books would come faster.

Entertaining Author

I came across this series by accident but have fallen in love with this author's writing style, this entertaining story line, and I truly enjoy the delivery by Lorelai. If you are looking for humor with a bit of mystery, romance, and fantasy, look no further. I'd start at the beginning with this series though as it does build on itself.
