Publisher's summary

A music therapist who thrives on helping others, Kendra Michaels cherishes the ordinary life she has achieved after stem cell surgery restored her sight. The skills she perfected during those sightless years - the ability to pick up the most subtle audio, olfactory, and tactile cues in the world around her - coupled with her laser-sharp mind - have made her a uniquely potent observer and problem solver. Kendra’s uncanny way of connecting the dots is as baffling to law enforcement as it is legendary.

When former agent Adam Lynch, known as the Puppetmaster, approaches her about a possible serial murder case, she is determined to steer clear. But he’s a notorious manipulator, skilled at handling criminals and colleagues alike to get the results he wants. And now he holds a trump card: The latest possible victim is Kendra’s ex-lover, an FBI agent who vanished without enough clues to follow - unless Kendra can pick up the trail. And if she can’t, she just might close her eyes again ... forever.

If you could sum up Close Your Eyes in three words, what would they be?

awe-inspiring, fast-paced and marvelous

when Kendra(the main character) can hear the zipper pull of a leather jacket as the person wearing it moves.

Which scene was your favorite?

the first time Kendra suprises fitch(?)-the main male character) with her insights about him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

when Kendra is remembering when she and her best friend meet for the first time

Any additional comments?

i've only read three books so far, that iris and roy have worked on together, and I have loved every single one of them. the stories are great, have unexpected results, and always leave me excited and anticipating the next one.

Interesting Premise

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It was a good suspense novel, so I was always excited to listen to more during my commute.

Which character – as performed by Elisabeth Rodgers – was your favorite?

I thought having a main character who had super enhanced senses because she spent most of her life blind was an interesting concept, thought not necessarily entirely believable.

A fresh idea for a good book

Would you consider the audio edition of Close Your Eyes to be better than the print version?

No, however, this book is a very good audio choice. The story is interesting and complex. It is well worth my credit.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Elisabeth Rodgers?

Yes

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, More than One. I found this book more interesting than some because it is different, and I found it intelligent not far-fetched which can really disappoint sometimes. Yet, I often enjoy a good fantasy as well.

Any additional comments?

On the edge of your seat page turner it isn't, but I enjoyed it very much. I recommend it.

Very good listen..great main character

If you could sum up Close Your Eyes in three words, what would they be?

Interesting, unusual characters.

What other book might you compare Close Your Eyes to and why?

Because of the main character development I'm reminded of Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas. Both are unusual characters and it's interesting to see how they approach problems and deal with their world.

Which character – as performed by Elisabeth Rodgers – was your favorite?

The main character, Kendra.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Almost....it occasionally dragged a little but for the most part moved along well.

Any additional comments?

On the whole I really enjoyed the story. I found Kendra to be very human in the way she dealt with the world around her. Her perceptions were beyond human but I was able to suspend disbelief because of the character development. I will definitely listen to future stories based on this character.

Terrific!

This was my first descent into the team Iris and Roy Johansen novels. I must admit I was quite pleased with the novel.

Kendra Michaels is a character, much like Iris Johansen's Eve character, that you will not soon forget. She is smart a witty, and extremely observant. She spent the first period of her life blind which has made her far more appreciative of the things she sees. It also makes her more observant of what she sees. An old boyfriend is missing and she finds herself thrust into solving crime with a former FBI agent, something she had promised herself that she would never do again.

She and the former agent travel unraveling the truth of an old chemical weapon the was never discarded correctly and must stop the people who wish to profit through it as they clean up their tracks by leaving mystery and bodies in their wake.
