Best narrator ever!

I love JD Robb. I love all of her books. But listening to them being performed by Susan Erickson takes the books to the next level! I love all of her different voices and the way she makes the books come to life! Makes it hard to listen to any other book series!

I want MORE!

Love this series. I have so much trouble waiting for the next new book.

It is so good to hear Susan Ericksen back to normal. The voices add so much to the characters and detract from them when the voices aren't right.

Yes - the entire series!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like them all, but I think Peabody is my favorite! Her background is so complex, plus the way the character is developing just charms the listener.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Susan Ericksen is one of my favorite narrators. Her interpretation of the characters in this series, though, is exceptional.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nothing extreme, just didn't want to put it down.

Great series by a prolific and talented author whose books I always anticipate and buy.

I was starting to think she had lost her touch but this lets me kno Eve is back!

Increasing Body Count

The first victim was a accountant - a woman, a wife and mother. Her neck is broken. Eve Dallas and Detective Peabody are on the case. There does not seem to be a reason for the murder except that she was conducting an audit. The main thing they know is that the killer is a very big man. Their search for the killer or killers carries them into a law firm, an accounting firm and an investment company. There are several possibilities that Dallas and Peabody are looking at. More people die. Then Dallas and Peabody find that they are in danger from the killer. He throws a toddler at Dallas and she makes a great catch. Dallas finally believes she knows the identity of the people responsible and all comes to a head at the premier of the movie based on Nadine''s book about the I-Cove case, which is the subject of a previous In Death book.

I was immersed in this story - but I can't tell you exactly why. Dallas was her usual snarky self. Peabody her lovable self and Roark his wonderful sexy handsome self. One thing that aggravates me about the In Death books, other than Dallas' basic hateful personality, is the perceived ability on Dr. Mira's part to profile a killer from just one act and Dallas buys in at once and completely. There is just no way that an exact profile can be made from one murder, but Dallas calls on Dr. Mira immediately to get an in depth description of the murderer. Totally unbelievable and annoying. Back to Dallas' personality: she is very hateful to Peabody, Roark and anyone else she runs into whether she knows the person or not. I find it hard to comprehend why Roark is so madly in love with her and so turned on by her even though she is not at all feminine. In fact she is crude and masculine. It is possible that I find her snarky it is the way her part is read that makes her sound so mean, but mean she is! Still I love the books and find that Dallas sometimes has redeeming qualities. Don't get me wrong about the narrator - she is wonderful and consistently performs the characters and tells the story in a captivating manner.

Book 36 of the Best Series Ever!

The 'In Death' series, written by J.D. Robb & narrated by Susan Ericksen, is a futuristic suspense series. The story is set in mid-21st-century New York City & it centers around Lieutenant Eve Dallas & her billionaire husband, Roarke.

My husband & I both love all of the J.D. Robb, 'In Death' series. We first began listening to them when they were on CDs. We've listened to the entire series, in order, three times so far! If we're driving somewhere, you can be sure Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNab, Capt. Feeney, Mavis, Dr. Mira, Nadine, Summerset & the rest of the gang are in the truck with us. We love all of the major characters & look forward, with anticipation, to the new audiobooks that come out in February & September every year!

If you're looking for an awesome mystery series, a little romance with a bit of the futuristic thrown in, then you'll love this series! Believe me, you just can't go wrong, but be warned... once you get started, you'll be hooked!

Death series is wonderful.

Would you consider the audio edition of Calculated in Death to be better than the print version?

I prefer audible and haven't read any of the Death series books.

Loved the main characters and their interaction with each other....Peabody with her pink boots!

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I only enjoy listening to books read by females for some reason and l think Susan Ericksen is the best! She always gives the characters their personalities with her inflections and accents. Thank you Susan for making my audible experience a pleasure.

Always great

The storyline that concludes the storyline from a couple other books came to a great spin with interesting twists and turns. JD Robb really knows how to keep a person going. Every time I read or listen I get something new from the book!
