Publisher's summary

A girl discovers her boarding school is actually an elite spy-training program, and she must learn the skills of the trade in order to find her mother in this action-packed middle grade debut.

After a botched escape plan from her boarding school, Abigail is stunned to discover the school is actually a cover for an elite spy ring called The Center, along with being training grounds for future spies. Even more shocking? Abigail's mother is a top agent for The Center and she has gone MIA, with valuable information that many people would like to have - at any cost. Along with a former nemesis and charming boy from her grade, Abigail goes through a crash course in Spy Training 101, often with hilarious - and sometimes painful - results.

But Abigail realizes she might be a better spy-in-training than she thought - and the answers to her mother's whereabouts are a lot closer than she thinks....

That they never talked about the dad

I loved the book overall and the way they presented the book and how much they represented the characters

This is the spy book I needed in my life

To compare this book and series to the Gallagher Girls saga is a bit pedantic. as an object oriented programmer, I understand that all spy books need to have certain states and behaviors. This is an instance of a spy novel. But never did I feel that the story was trite or a copycat. I mean, having the bad guys be nice and likeable, even falling in love with the heroine?! Who does that? Furthermore, This school has a duality which makes the line between covert ops and being a teenager an even more finely taut tightrope for the characters to navigate. Everything about the school is not to be trusted, even it's make up as school for girls that is in reality co-ed. I found book a story to embrace. I do see a lot of parallels to the Spy School series, and can't wait to read the crossover novel. I can't wait to see what the headmaster's key opens, and if Mrs. Smith comes home alive. Does Veronica know her father is an evil puppet-master? Will Abby and Toby end up together?? So many questions, exactly what a great spy novel should produce.

so creepy

Not age appropriate, too creepy. We just finished by school by Stewart Gibbs and we were hoping for more of the same. If that's what you're looking for, don't read this.

Too graphic

My daughter is 7 and into anything spy and mystery… that being said, she shut it off after a just a short while due to it being too gruesome. Disappointed- didn’t see any reviews about this.
