A New York Times best seller!

A GMA3 Summer Reading Squad Selection!

“Ingeniously plotted, and a grin-inducing delight.” (People)

“Will keep young readers glued to the page…So when do I get the sequel?” (Beth McMullen, author of Mrs. Smith’s Spy School for Girls)

Sara Martinez is a hacker. She recently broke into the New York City foster care system to expose her foster parents as cheats and lawbreakers. However, instead of being hailed as a hero, Sara finds herself facing years in a juvenile detention facility and banned from using computers for the same stretch of time. Enter Mother, a British spy who not only gets Sara released from jail but also offers her a chance to make a home for herself within a secret MI5 agency.

Operating out of a base in Scotland, the City Spies are five kids from various parts of the world. When they’re not attending the local boarding school, they’re honing their unique skills, such as sleight of hand, breaking and entering, observation, and explosives. All of these allow them to go places in the world of espionage where adults can't.

Before she knows what she’s doing, Sara is heading to Paris for an international youth summit, hacking into a rival school’s computer to prevent them from winning a million euros, dangling 30 feet off the side of a building, and trying to stop a villain...all while navigating the complex dynamics of her new team.

No one said saving the world was easy....

Sucked in a 5th Grader!

My daughter listened to this book and loved it. She is dyslexic and prefers to listen to stories and she is VERY picky about her narrators but I love when she finds a story/series she loves. She would wake up early for school so she could listen for 10-15 minutes. She sped through this book and eagerly downloaded the other 2 in the series. It was perfect action and adventure for her age and she loved the spy/MI6 connection. She was totally engaged and is really hoping the series continues.

She's now listening to other stories from this author as well. So great to have stories about middle school aged kids! And nice to have narrators who sound young so that kids can relate better to the characters. She also loves the Whatever After series narrated by Emily Eiden.

Interesting and keeps your attention

My kids are 11 and 9 and loved this book. I did too! It was great to listen to together. The reader was very good and does nice voices. Not too over the top but just enough. Clever story to follow along. After we gone done my kids Googled it and found there’s a book 2 and 3. I know what I’m buying next.

Best book

It was amazing!! My daughter was so sad when we realized that the 2book hadn’t come out yet. Great story plot and it was great to have different spy story line. I would definitely recommend this book.

Excellent

This series is excellent. It's labeled for YA but it's great, regardless of age (I'm old). Each book is better than the last, and the first is amazing.
