Publisher's summary

"One day, you’ll be pumping my gas."

Mike Miller’s life has gone to shit. The formerly popular high school quarterback now works at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. The last thing he needs is meeting the guy he used to bully at school and seeing him all sorts of polished up. James is now the proud owner of an amazing silver Jaguar and a self-made millionaire. It seems that the day couldn’t get any worse for Mike, but James "Lovelace" Austin might just turn out to be his golden ticket out of the job he hates.

When James Austin meets Mike Miller, his high school crush and tormentor all in one, working at an old, dirty gas station, it feels as if the stars have finally aligned in his favor. He wants to finally get his revenge on the guy, but when Mike turns out to be gay, the whole afternoon takes a turn for the surreal. Instead of just humiliating Mike at his workplace, James decides to hire him for a weekend at a conference he’s attending. A hot guy by his side is the only accessory James needs to rub his success in the faces of his frenemies.

Only problem is, a gay Mike Miller might be too much of a blast from the past than James ever expected. If James wants his nerdy heart safe from the hunky jock, he needs to keep Mike at arms length. The task would be a lot easier if Mike wasn’t unashamedly hitting on James. Or is it just James’ money Mike is after?

Mr. Jaguar

This is such an entertaining book. I really love the whole Pretty Woman vibe that was going here. It was sexy and touching. I, personally, would have loved to have had a longer book but Mr, Jaguar was a fun short story.

Opposites Attract

Mike and James had history between them.
When James gets his opportunity with Mike years later, its not in the way he expects.
This opposites attract story has a bit of a fairytale type of feel to it.
Mike is a bit dramatic at times and James finally gets the man he unexpectedly needed.

The narration was entertaining and the narrator using many different pitches of voice to make the characters emotions clear.
An entertaining tale to listen to.

I was given a free copy.Giving honest review.

I received a free copy of this audio book.
I am leaving an honest and unbiased review.

I wasn't sure that I was going to like this book at first.

But,this story exceeded my expectations.

I really grew to care about,Mike's character, despite himself or maybe in spite of himself, lol. He really is a good guy,who is lonely, and just a little rough around the edges.

Mike quickly grew on me.

As for,James,I didn't like him very much at first either, but he too,was a good guy,who was lonely and in James, found a good friend and lover.

Both of these guys,Mike and James, were two lonely souls who just reconnected recently, extremely unconventionally, after having gone to high school together years earlier.

As other reviewers' have stated, this story is basically a gay version of the,Hollywood film,Pretty Woman.

Overall, while this story and some of the character's are a little messed up,it's that part of them, precisely, that really spoke to me,as a listener.

I wish that this story had been longer and I would definitely welcome a sequel of this book.

The narrator,Wyatt Baker,was really great.

We are all human and crave love and a human connection with someone else.

I would definitely recommend this audiobook, give the story and characters
a chance,I think you will love these two characters as much as I did.

Quick and entertaining

I read Mr. Jaguar several years ago when it was a freebie on Amazon, and it served as my introduction to the writing of the sister author duo of K.A. Merikan. Listening to the audiobook definitely took the experience up a couple of levels, thanks to the narration of Wyatt Baker. This is an enemies-to-lovers short with a touch of fake relationship thrown into the mix. Mike Miller was the popular guy in high school and the bully who made James Austin's life horrendous. Years later, Mike pumps gas while James is a self-made millionaire driving a Jaguar. With the tables turned, this could be the perfect time for James to seek vengeance on the guy who humiliated him time and again. When he learns that Mike is actually gay, though, James offers to pay him to be his companion for a weekend at a work conference. Maybe this older version of his teenage tormentor is someone James could have in his life for real, but is Mike truly interest in him or is he merely after James's money?

I enjoyed listening to this K.A. Merikan novella, what with the whole change in fortune for the two main characters. It did take a while for me to warm up to either of them, but there was something about Mike and James that had me sticking it out, wanting to see how everything would turn out. Seeing who these two were behind all the facade and walls that they'd built made it clear that they had their reasons for acting the way they were before. They each had their insecurities and issues, but slowly and surely, the more time they spent together truly getting to know one another, the more it was possible to see that maybe they had a chance to be together for real. With Wyatt Baker bringing this story to life, all I had to do was sit back and work while listening to him and I was quite satisfied by the end. I'm giving Mr. Jaguar 3.5 stars for the story and 4.5 stars for the narration, for an average rating of four stars. ♥

A fun quick listen

This story made for a great morning listen. It had everything I’ve come to expect from author: humor, lots of steam, and fun twists to the average story. This was a redemption story for a former bully and his nerd, and an enemies to lovers. At first Mike’s personality was kind of off putting, but the more I got to know his character, the more I realized that this was a facade. He has way more depth than he lets people see. He’s just had a bad hand in life, and trying to survive it the best he can. I enjoyed watching his guard come down. Jamie was good for him, and vice versa. Turns out, this was a sweet story, but I didn’t even realize it until the end.

Wyatt Baker did a fantastic job with the characters in the story. I enjoyed his voice, and felt he elevated the story.

The nerd and the quarterback after high-school.

The nerd and the quarterback after high-school. I could not get excited about this narrator's telling of the story.

This story had its moments and i had fun hearing about the paintball fight and how easy Mike made the schmoozing with the sales folks. I enjoyed the ending of the story. However there were a lot of stereo-types here for me and I think the writing and pacing were off a bit.  The quarterback, Mike, was not a likeable character for most of the story.   The nerd, James, was really thin a lot of the story.

I really wanted to find a connection between these guys but the story-line didn't touch me. I wanted so much more to be done with this story, but i was not excited about it.

Enemies to lover’s short story!

Mr Jaguar was a enjoyable short story! I wasn’t really crazy about Mike or James characters at first but they soon grew on me as I listened. It didn’t take long before I realized why Mike acted so harsh and the reasons for James insecurity’s. The smoking hot firsts for Mike and in a different way also for James, along with this HEA had me glued to this audiobook! Narrator Wyatt Baker really did a fantastic job with the voices and this story!
