Disappointing

I had very high hopes for these stories are. From the very beginning I was disappointed. The performance is not what I have come to expect from my audible listens. The first story itself did not capture me I have tried listening through several chapters and again it could not hold my attention. Maybe with a different reader it would be different but I’m not sure about that. I wish I could return these books and get my credits back. Because I will not finish listening to them. I am highly disappointed in these books. And the characters really didn’t seem believable and I didn’t give any sort of a backdrop to the girl before she was taken out of her time and put somewhere else. It was not fun to listen to what I actually sat through and listen to. It was honestly a waste of my time and credits.

So bad I couldn’t finish

Wow! Don’t waste a credit.
The narration was so terrible I couldn’t make it past book 1 chapter 6. Luckily, I figured out how to return it and got my credit back. There was no way I could finish listening. The narrator gave a supposed Scottish guy a weird combo of a Southern/Scandinavian accent. The main girl kept sabotaging the guys hunts, when he was trying to get them food, so she clearly wasn’t bright and then all of a sudden they were in the sack for a very long sex scene. Very strange book. I couldn’t make myself like them or bring myself to finish it.

Don't expect the flavor of Scotland.

Although 3 of the books are set in Scotland, one in France, and one starts in London, the narrator makes no attempt at accents to give the flavor of the locations (except for a poor attempt in the first book that sounds Swedish!) The narration and dialogue do little to suggest the time period the characters are in. More focus is giving to the two main characters having sex than interesting plots.

Lousy

Don’t waste a credit on this. Repetitive, boring, and a ridiculous story line. Worst book I’ve ever actually finished. Should have given up and not kept waiting for it to get better.

No story

Could not find the story line while listening to the first book. Did not feel like the other books in the series presented enough interest.

Narration Blows!!

I honestly couldn't tell you if this has a good storyline or not because the narration is so horrendous! At chapter 6, I just couldn't take it any longer. The woman sounds mechanical and talks in a southern drawl. HORRIBLE!!

XXX Rated Cheap Porn with No Story Line

Only buy if you like XXX Rated cheap porn & swearing, because there is nothing else, there's no storyline, plot, or character development. It was like listening to porn, guy finds girl naked in the woods, takes her back to his home and the rest of the time they do or interact with next to no one, just have sex and swear. I couldn't get into the characters at all because the entire focus was sex, absolutely nothing else. Never been this disappointed in a book before and the sample is not the same person that reads the 1st book, the narrator was horrible, the fake accent was atrocious. Hands down the worst book I have listened to on Audible.

worth the binge time

The story was great. Reading the whole series at once eliminated the cliffhangers. The performance could have been better, but this was, overall, a good journey.

Please DO NOT waste a credit

I’m at chapter 9 in the first book but I guess I will never know how it ends because bar none, this is the worst narrator I have ever heard!!!!! Authors, PLEASE take a minute and listen to the people that will be representing you….

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!

I could not get passed the 10th chapter! The story is based in Scotland and the narrator gives the guy an American southern accent. The plot was so unreal, even for a time travel book! What a waste of money and time!
