This set contains Mine and His, the complete Ties That Bind Duet!

Mine

She was never supposed to walk into my club. But she did.

I shouldn’t have looked twice at her. But I did.

The criminal underworld is no place for a girl like her.

One night with Katerina isn’t enough, but men like me can’t afford to be weak. So I tell her to leave me behind.

She does, but not before she sees something she shouldn’t.

When she goes into hiding, it’s my duty to hunt her down. I have a job to do, and she needs to disappear for good.

But four years later, Kat isn’t alone anymore. And the little boy right beside her looks just like me.

His

I’ve been in hiding for four years. On the run from the man in whose bed I once slept.

I saw something I shouldn’t have seen. Took something I shouldn’t have taken.

And he’s just found me.

But it’s not just my safety I have to worry about. I have a little boy. His little boy. The secret baby of a Russian mobster.

He told me in no uncertain terms that I’m his. That we would be a family.

But his uncle still wants me dead, and I know the man who’s been hunting me is the only one who can keep us safe.

Narration

The male narrator made me skip some of the chapters he was reading. I get the intensity he was attempting to portray, but it felt like I put the audio on the fastest reading speed. ☹️

Loved this book!!

I loved this book but the male narrator Michael Pierce just didn’t do it for me, I’m not sure if he’s trying too much or what but I struggle so much with that and I feel it took a lot away from the the actual story. McKenzie Cartwright amazing as always, she did better with the male voice I feel like she could have carried the book all in her own and I hate saying that because I love having a male and female narrators.
The story was really good but I guess when I listen to the sample he didn’t sound the way he did in the rest of the book so I guess it’s best to buy the book and read it I would have done that but I couldn’t return the audio so I had to struggle when it was time for Michael’s part.

Perfection

Well paced, no dragging or rushing in the storyline. Original elements & plot details to the trope.

Interesting mafia twist

Spoilers: This isnt your typical mafia storyline given that the hero isnt truly mafia and chooses the girl over being "in". I'm used to the balancing game between honoring your duty and loving the girl. This one is more of a story between 2 people both impacted by mafia ties. The story is steamy and exciting, with some great storyline development along the way. My biggest complaint is how the heroine acted while her life and her son's life were in danger. She knowingly put them in dangerous situations that I think most people know better. How did she hide for years effectively only to make silly mistakes like that? Otherwise, I loved the fresh mafia take!

the narration is fine except that there are no accents. hard to visualize a russian mobster with no russian accent. im glad that the narrator didnt try if it wasnt in there wheelhouse, but it does take away from the experience.

Painful Male Narrator

I'm torn. I loved, loved, loved the story! These two really did write something phenomenal. Now with the bad...I had no issues with the female narrator, but the male narrator was not great.
