Publisher's summary

Naomi Winters will be 40 soonish, and she’s only been with one man. One night. One time. Long ago. She believes everything happens for a reason, and the universe spoke about Nathan Ryder.

Nathan Ryder isn’t the same man who hightailed his bike out of Green Valley, 18 years ago. As a rule breaker, women are one area he acts a fool. Case in point, the local librarian. He can’t get a read on her, but she’s one risk he’s willing to take. Again.

What do an eccentric librarian and a sexy silver biker have in common?

More than you think. The due date on their love might not be expired, after all.

Love in Due Time is a full-length, contemporary romantic comedy that can be listened to as a stand-alone, and is book one in the Green Valley Library series.

Reads like a first draft

This title doesn’t fit with the rest of the series.
Story: Vague storyline , stuttered pace, unrealistic characters - all have total personality changes
Narration: Male narrator is excellent and an asset to the series. Female narrator reads too slow and deliberate to help the story flow. Made a dull book worse.

Could Not Get Through This Book

I love Penny Reid and The Winstons. The books by Smartypants Romance are usually really good. I love Chris Brinkley and his narration is always on point and great. Beth Tucker was the reason I could not finish this book. Her narration was dry and monotone. No distinction between characters and I felt like someone was just reading and bored. The narrators are the ones that paint the picture with the author’s words. I want to read this book on my own. The only reason I rated this because I’m sure it’s probably good as a book and Chris Brinkley.

Good but narrating missed the mark

Chris Brinkley is amazing. He could read the stock exchange and I would be hooked. But this female narrator left much to be desired. She was stiff, sounding like reading a book without any emotion. If It weren’t for Chris Brinkley I wouldn’t have stuck with it.
I’m so glad I was introduced to the Winston Brothers series first and I find myself listening to them again. It is nice to see little glimpses of them in these other books but it makes me miss them more! Lol

Chris Brinkley is great!

Beth Tucker…. Is not a good narrator! Her infection, what little there is, is placed weird and off sync. A lot of this book feels like a grandma reading to a child, but not in a good way. Just to say it doesn’t sound like a professional. It’s distracting. It makes me stop listening in frustration.
Chris Brinkley is fabulous! I love his narration. I have listened to many Green Valley books (all the others by Penny Reid) and Chris is fantastic in all of them. He’s the only reason I have kept listening.
This book isn’t on par with the rest of the Green Valley books. I’m going to listen to the next one as it has a different female reading it, hopefully this book just wasn’t as good because because of Tucker!
Chris Brinkley is the only reason I gave 3 stars for this book.

Green Valley Character Continues

The story is in the Green Valley spirit of the Winston Bro series. Look forward to reading more of this Green Valley Library Series.
You can catch the female narrator’s inflections better at 0.9x speed.

eh

It was okay; female reading was weird and not a fan of her voice.

sigh...

Love this story, to be honest, found it because it was partially narrated by Chris Brinkley (who has a panty melting voice) and included the Winston brothers which is a great series!
A Must read/listen!
My "overall" 4 star is due to Beth Tucker sounding so robotic and sounding like an old uncomfortable librarian. I will not purchase any audiobooks narrated by her, she's one of the reasons I had resisted audiobooks for years, (sorry Beth but this was not your best performance) she sounds like a librarian (no offense to librarians, my sister wants to be one) uncomfortable with what she is narriting. Again, robotic.
When you pay for an audiobook you do expect more than what you hear at your local library.
FFS my old town lady librarians have more saucyliness and spark on them than her on this one!

Chris Brinkley is simply the best, I have lived all of his performances and will gladly follow where he leads

Overall all good story

I liked the male narrator better but both did a fine job. Book was sweet, hot, & you didn’t see all the twists and turns of this dragon of a story.

Cringe.

If you can get by the female character’s narrator reading like you’re sitting in class taking turns then by the character herself being irritating then it’s ok
