Publisher's summary

Olivet Pierson needs his land. Name your price, Mr. Harrington.

She has her reasons, and this muscular mountain of masculinity isn’t going to get in her way. However, her heart has a different plan after she accepts his crazy conditions: three nights up on the ridge.

George Harrington is a quiet giant of a man.

No sale, Cricket.

He’s a war hero, a widower, and COO for the family brewing company, but his life lacks spontaneity. Then, she arrives, chirping away at him, roaming his body with those sky blue eyes and negotiating for something on which he won’t put a price. Too bad his heart is immediately sold.

With the challenge accepted, this silver fox can no longer deny his desires for something a little different.

Welcome to Blue Ridge, where sexy silver foxes meet their match of feisty vixens.

The Harrington brothers are a spin-off from Second Chance, but don’t you worry, this over-40 romance can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

oh my...!

Lustful, rings true of a whirlwind in later life, and like any fiction the objectives of the main characters are obvious to everyone but themselves. In that way, rings pretty true to the blunders of real-life smitten-ness.
I must chuckle at the book "details". not a "publication" date, but a "release" date. Also, the author is likely a planetary geologist. Lots of interchangeable references to "globes" and "cores".

Loved it!

Giant and Lettie met on a mountain. They had no idea when they struck a deal they were headed on a journey that would change their lives and their hearts forever.

Giant and Lettie's story is filled with challenges, tender moments and plenty of spice 🔥!

Just the way I like it.

Well done, L.B.,, keep em coming!

Great storyline

Terrific listen, with awesome characters, great narration and even better storyline. A great addition to the tales of the Harrington family.

Too many F words

I wish writers would not use the F word as part of a romance story. It cheapens the act abs turns it into more of a violation than a love. Cute story but...........

Fresh

Sure it has the romance tropes: enemy to lovers, brooding alpha, spunky protagonist, yet this novel does not read like a rehash. some of it might be the peeks into the characters' heads. some could be the beautifully described settings (without going purple), and a lot of it is the snarky dialogue. my favorite part is that each lover has what the other needs.

Giant and Letty.

the book started out very strong and I like when it's written about more mature individuals in their 40s and 50s. But I found it kind of I don't know Paki you're just unbelievable that she would expect him to want to have another baby or a small child at the age of 50. I am 53 and I've got seven grandkids right now my kids are 34 and 26 and if I yeah I would not want a baby yeah no no now it's mine and my husband's time now we get to come first again.

A little far fetched

I was excited to see that this was a second chance romance and within my age range. However, the main characters played way too many childish games with each other. Letti was more of a 20 something rather than a 40 year old. While Giant character is suppose to be a vet. There were several inconsistancies in his character for being former military. For example, as soon as they made camp he would have checked her injuries and blisters not a few days into their adventure.
Overall, the story line was good and kept my attention. The male narrartor was awesome and made me feel Giants character. I hope to hear more from him in the future.

Thank Heavens for Chris Brinkley

Not even gonna lie. I invested in this audiobook because of Chris Brinkley and he did not disappoint. The man's voice is simply magic. I would probably listen to him read the phonebook, as they say, and be just as happy. So kudos to the author for choosing him as a narrator. I wasn't too crazy about the female narrator mainly because when she tries to narrate from a male point of view her interpretation is to speak very low and very slow as if men are stupid. That's not easy to listen to but it was remedied by changing the speed of the audio. As far as the story was concerned it was just mediocre but worth it for me (again) because of Mr. Brinkley. The way the characters came together was a little strange and did not make a whole lot of sense. Same thing with the challenges the characters face. Those did not make a whole lot of sense either maybe because of lack of character development or just a poorly written story. Thankfully the next two books also have amazing narrators so I'm going to stick with the series but so far I'm not crazy about the author, who is new to me. Fingers crossed for you the second book in the series.

Finally, a seasoned love story

I enjoy the romance genre but am tired of the 21 year old virgin. What about us women over 40? L.B. Dunbar writes our story. It deals with 2nd chances at love, adoption, career change. All things that I as a 50year old woman can relate t to.

The intimate scenes were well crafted. It felt like a dance rather than just a f$%& session.

I liked Giant and Letty. There were times that I wish her character had been stronger and less flighty. I also wish the story had developed a little better half way through the book they were in a relationship and we still had 4 hours of trial and tribulation to go through. All that said,I would still read it again. It was a very good book.
