Clear, Easy Ideas to get Life on Track

I will keep this book handy as it contains good ideas on how to simply set boundaries and guide posts in life. The material is set forth with plenty of examples of difficult situations and ways to respond to them allowing a listener to practice their own behaviors.

Perfect for Teaching Me to Take Control of My Life

This book taught me HOW to generate the outcomes I want in my life. It's helping me change my behaviors, expections, and the behaviors I will accept from others. I'm ready now.

Book itself was of some help, BUT!

Aside from the laughably useless examples offered on active listening with the “ok, anything else” which would surely come off as flippant, or the “broken record” skill with 8 “NO” responses in a row which would do nothing to resolve a real-life conflict, the book did have some helpful ideas and skills to apply. The biggest negative is the narrator’s delivery. We are adult children but this is performed as if to literal children with oddly chosen voice inflection throuout the entire book. It was entirely distracting. Just be aware of that before choosing the audio version. For me, I feel I wasted a credit on this audio book; may have learned something to try in next conflict, but the frustration with the delivery of that knowledge still lingers.

My thoughts

Every adult child should read this book. I love it. I listen to it every night as I sleep, so that it can work it's way into my consciousness.

important material but narrator ruins the delivery

Why do some narrator's think it's necessary to try and mimic the voice of a female or child when they're reading a conversation in the book? It is really hard to pay attention to the message when the narrator is trying to sound like a woman but is failing miserably and as one reviewer illiterates perfectly, "it sounds like the narrator is on quaaludes." 😂😂

This book is terrible.

The narrator sounds like he’s on Quaaludes.

The book is written for a 12-year-old with developmental delays.

Truly it’s ridiculous
What a complete waste of money.

It is so bad that I have never written a review before but here is mine

Exasperating

This book talks as if the audience was a complete idiot or 3 year old child. I was trying to find tools but could not push thru. It is slow, very basic and annoying.
BUT it could be helpful if this is the first book you ever approach about emotional work.
