Very enlightened!

Beautifully written story, heartfelt and I’ve learned a lot about being a caregiver through the eyes of the author.

The Knicely Sisters Pact

The three Knicely Sisters make a pact that each of them will commit to six months of being a caregiver for their eighty-five year old Great Aunt, Miss Priscilla Brownlee, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. None of them realizes what they have gotten themselves into. Tabitha is the first to discover that her Great Aunt can disappear in the seven minutes it takes her to shower, and Miss Priscilla is really fast as she visits a house she believes to be hers where she sits on the porch. The homeowner, Marcus Whittington, baffled by this elderly Senior Citizen, once he meets her caregiver, threatens Tabitha to have her Great Aunt removed by the police due to neglect. As he becomes better acquainted with the situation and this beautiful woman, Tabitha and her Great Aunt, soon learns the stress under which Tabitha is attempting to live. Marcus seems to place himself in situations where he becomes a rescuer as the listener will see as they follow along with the audiobook. Although the story ends on a good note, will Marcus be satisfied when he no longer needs to be the knight in shining armor?

Beautiful Love in the face of Adversity

Lean on me starts with suspense, intertwines love and adversity all in the same story. Delivered in a way that makes you feel that you are there with those in the story. Then ends with a strong love that came during the unexpected. Thanks for writing another piece of literary art which would make a great Lifetime movie (hint, hint).

First time listening to a Pat Simmons Book

This was really good and kept my attention. Being from St. Louis, I was familiar with the landmarks and places mentioned in the book. It was like I wanted to drive over to Pasadena Hills to live the story of Marcus and Tabatha. The only thing I would criticize is the narrator wasn't familiar with some of the pronunciations of our streets and venues. St. Louis has unique words and you could tell Ms. Floyd wasn't from there. Overall great book and sad we have to wait until February for the next one in this series.

not a romance fan

I am not a romance fan and only got this because the Kindle version was free through a book club, but this was a good book! I loved the inclusion of God throughout the story. the sisters commitment to Aunt Tweet was heartwarming, and showing the effects of dementia made it all the more real. I'm looking forward to the next two books!

Becoming one of my favorite authors!

Loved the detailed descriptions of everything. That is what kept me engaged. Related to Tabitha being an caregiver to her aunt Tweet. Alzheimer is really an debilitating disease that not only impact the ones but those who are taking care of them. Loved how Marcus took the time to really see what Tabitha was going through. Also loved the relationship with Tabitha's sisters.

A beacon of light for families faced with dementia

As a family caregiver for my mom with advancing dementia, listening to this novel while driving back and forth between my mom's house and my house was like riding and talking with a friend, who is facing the same challenges of caring for a loved one with dementia, finding out that she is experiencing the same myriad of emotions, the same family issues, the polarized guilt between not doing enough for my mom while not doing enough to take care of myself and my family. The unfolding love story in the book reminded me to look for the gifts of grace, love, and joy amidst the challenges.
