Publisher's summary

For Christmas, soft-spoken Lady Jenny Windham craves the freedom to pursue her artistic ambitions, though it will mean scandalizing her ducal parents and abandoning all hope of a family of her own. She confides her plans to successful artist Elijah Harrison when he's commissioned to paint a portrait of her small nephews, because assisting Elijah will bring Jenny that much closer to her heart's desire - won't it? Elijah Harrison finds in his unlikely assistant not only an inspiring muse and unappreciated talent, but also a lovely and passionate woman. If Elijah supports Jenny's career, his own professional interests will suffer, but more significantly, he will lose Jenny forever. Both Jenny and Elijah must choose between true love and a lifelong dream. Contains mature themes.

Weak female character

It wasn’t a well constructed story. The female was weak and the male was too accommodating I just didn’t like the story and the female voice came off whiny.

Ho hum

This was my least favorite of her books. The whole premise didn’t hang together. The characters actions and troubles just didn’t make any sense. If you want to read it, get it for free from your local library

Hated it!!!!

I have listened to many Grace Burrowes books and considered her one of my favorites. After listening to this BORING book, I'm rethinking my choice. Had a very hard time paying attention and getting through it. Glad that's over...

I didn't like the female protagonist!

One is supposed to like the two protagonists, but I did NOT like Jenny ( the female protagonist)! I kept wondering what Elijah ( the male protagonist) SAW in her(!) - (besides sex)!! She was clingy and stubborn and stupid - making many poor decisions! She was the youngest child of many siblings and the author blamed it on that, but I know it wasn't so - it seems to me as if she just wanted attention and acknowledgement - in a bratty way! I didn't enjoy this Grace Burrows book!

Hope last in series

This is actually my second listen to this book. I randomly listened to the series previously. This time I listened in order. Probably not a good idea. All the Wyndham sisters are whiney, wishy-washy annoying women. Not my favorites. Mr. Langdon is a good narrator....great with men voices. But, I think HE is the one who makes the women whiney. I have really enjoyed the Wyndhams.....except the whiney ones.

This book was okay…

It didn’t leave me wanting to finish it, the like the others. I restarted it several times, kept loosing interest. But it was much better than a lot of books I’ve read!

Too much

.. gratuitous sex. The plot does not move, and when it does, it does not make sense.
