Publisher's summary

Caroline Abbott loves her job - helping engaged couples pick out the perfect save-the-date cards and invitations for their dream wedding. Working at Noteworthy means she has to deal with the occasional bridezilla, but Caroline’s always up for the challenge.

Until one particular bridezilla walks into the stationery store whose fiancé happens to be the boy Caroline shared her first kiss with. Alexander Wilder is all grown up now, helping run his family’s successful luxury hotel chain, and is somehow even better looking than she remembers.

When Caroline just happens to catch Alex’s fiancée half naked with another man, well, of course she has to tell Alex. Of course, he breaks off his engagement. And of course, the ex-bridezilla has gone completely bonkers.

At least Caroline has her friends to save her from crazy ex-fiancées. But she also has the sudden interest of...Alex? Caroline knows they share a connection, but is he on the rebound? Or after seeing her all these years later, does he really want something more?

Entertaining

Monica Murphy is a new author to me and after reading Save The Date I will definitely be reading her other works when time permits.

I really liked Caroline Abbott, she is someone that I could easily be friends with. Working at Noteworthy she specializes in Save The Date and wedding invitations meaning she deals with a variety of brides.

Caroline is shocked when her latest bride’s fiancee turns out to be someone Caroline once knew, Alexander Wilder.

Alex was the first boy Caroline ever kissed and has always held a special place in her heart.

After discovering his fiancee has been cheating, Alex calls the wedding off and instead embarks on a journey of self discovery with Caroline.

Alex is most certainly swoon worthy and I loved the slow burn of the relationship as it built with Caroline.

Caroline’s friends were awesome and just as quirky as her. I really loved how supportive they were.

This is a sweet, romantic, second chance at love story that ticked the boxes for me. Extremely well written this story will take you on a fabulous journey that will leave you with a smile on your face. The narration by Ava Lucas and Jack DuPont was spot on and kept me thoroughly entertained throughout.

Ho hum

OMG Caroline was SO annoying!! She was so freakishly wimpy that it was weird that someone in Alex’s position would find that attractive. So fake. Oh, the constant crying, the constant repetition of events over and over left a lot to be desired. I had to skip a few times... I did like Alex’s character but I wish it was read with someone with an actual deep voice because why keep referencing his voice then it’s not deep in the performance?

It was not terrible but hated the rehashing of the events over and over in detail, like we know and the author could have just said “she explained the whole thing again” or anything other than repeating over and over. Some events were repeated over three times and felt like book fillers. Unless one is extremely forgetful, there was no need.

The performance was okay. The person reading the female part did well trying to convey different characters. I just couldn’t get over Alex not having a deep voice. Threw me off at times.

If you are looking for mindless romance without depth, this would be okay. The story as is did not sweep me off my feet at all.

Cute Romance

I liked it but wished the main character wasn’t such a wimp. She sometimes annoyed me. It also took a looooong time for these two to finally get together. I thought the narration was pretty good. All in all, If you’re looking for a sweet love story with a little bit of sex this ones for you

Loved this!

I enjoyed this a lot! Seemed a little bit like it was 3 stories in one as there really was more like 2-3 conflicts and resolutions. I didn’t lose interest though. It felt realistic in its characters and plot points. Highly recommend.

Lackluster Narration

Both narrators sound tired and uninterested. The story itself could have been fun, but the bad narration made it anything but.

Struggling to FINISH

The main character is absolutely ridiculous. I wonder if the author wanted her to come off as uncomfortably childish. It's very obvious she did not go to college. I truly doubt the male lead would be interested in anything other than the physical with her. Hopefully I can finish this book. At this point, I want the male lead to RUN!

Nice AP find!

Found a new author with this free AP listen. really enjoyed the story and narrator's. took some time to get the heat going, which wasn't more than a few times but was a good enough amount to balance everything. look forward to more from this author.

Cute, “fluffy” story

This was a cute (if predictable) story. Definitely not full of edge-of-your-seat kind of moments, but I think it was better than a lot of reviewers here claim that it is. I loved the way Caroline and Alex met, and the sweet moments they had along the way. The characters could have been fleshed out a bit more, but it was still a nice story.

The narration was just okay. I found the parts where the male narrator imitated Caroline’s voice to be a bit irritating, but as the character of Alex, his voice was perfect.
