Publisher's summary

Natalie Rockwell has been taken. The President's daughter has been targeted. A bomb is about to explode. The clock is ticking....

After vanquishing his enemies in Moscow, former Special Ops legend, Xander King returned home, finally feeling free of his violent existence. But, the next morning, when he is greeted by a blood-soaked tragedy and the shocking message that the woman he loves has been taken, his vengeful past pulls him right back in.

Armed with only a cryptic text message from an unknown source, Xander goes on the hunt for revenge in Paris. It's a race against the clock to save Natalie, and the ransom is Xander's life for hers; a price he's more than willing to pay. But, when his team learns that the ruthless terrorist responsible for the chaos has a far more sinister plan, they must immediately shift gears to stop a threat that would not only affect the citizens of France, but the president of the United States himself.

One highly skilled team. Two insidious acts to stop. Thousands of lives at stake. The hunt is on.

Finally a new Narrator!

The previous 2 books were painful to listen to—I have read the series and wanted to find out the PREQUEL to the stories. I could not believe the accents of the characters—so glad you hired new talent.

Much better narrator

Good story, loved it in fact. Xander King and hi band of misfits promise great stories in future books.

I love Victor LOL

I started this book while on the plane to Paris France. not to give away anything else of the book it took place in Paris as well. towards the end of the book was the end of my visit and I was exactly at the same place some of the team members were a different times. so of course it was that much better.

WHOA! What a story!

I read this book when it first came out and was super excited about listening to the audiobook. Jarret does not disappoint! Holy cow. What a storyteller! I love the way he makes this book come alive and the accents he used as well. I’ve read this entire series and it was so much fun to go back in time to revisit King’s Ransom. We all need friends like Xander King’s circle. It’s a action-packed thrill ride from beginning to end. SO GOOD!

Poor reader

Terribly put forth story line. Reader was horrible and I had hoped would be better then previous but was worse.
Whoever takes the story line and changes it to make it a goofy fairytale really needs to stop

Not much excitement.

I thought this book did have some interesting parts. It seemed to me that everything was described to use up space and time to prolong the book. I did not like the two hour back and forth conversation about a fallen friend. It went on to long. I zoned out.

My first one star

I try to finish all the books I purchase but this one was one of the exceptions. I could not listen to that fake british accent anymore. The story was too predictable and mundane. I think there are so many better options out there
