Publisher's summary

Heir to a billion-dollar fortune, and with two Ivy League degrees under his belt, Jason Wake had the world at his fingertips...and then tragedy struck. On a cold winter morning, the promising young man could only watch as his fiancée was killed in a brutal act of terror that left 57 dead. Fueled by burning passion and an incessant desire for retribution, Jason puts himself through hell at a grueling covert training facility to become one of the deadliest men on Earth. When the ruthless terrorist group seeks innocent blood once more, the resolved American stands fearlessly in their way with one all-consuming objective: Send the mass murderers to their maker, or die trying.

Caribbean Wake is a brand-new, high-octane, action-packed adventure thriller from the author of the Florida Keys Adventure Series. Buckle your seat belts. Jason Wake is on the loose.

That Logan Dodge and his wife joined the mission.

The persistence to get the man he was after. It was a mission from years ago to get him and his criminal team.

Good listen.

A little formulaic but entertaining. Humorous interludes add a lot. Pretty well researched story line. Reader is a bit too casual at times but good job otherwise.

Good new series

Good start to a new series. The characters were very realistic and the story flowed well. I think this will be a good series to follow.

Not bad

I downloaded it because I was out of my usual authors titles, but I saw Jerret Lemaster narrated (as well as he does one of my preferred authors series), so I checked it out. Not bad. Pedestrian at times

Very good start to a new Caribbean series!

Although I’ve never read/listened to anything by Matthew Rief I decided to give his new book a try. This is a very good, fast paced and action packed book. The author seemed to use both Mitch Rapp and Jesse McDermott as his models for creating the protagonist.
I like the writing style of this author and will definitely be looking at his other books.
Jarrett Lemaster does a great job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

When I purchased it I didn’t realize that it was about terrorist

When I read/listen to stories I want to get away from real life. It was my fault that I purchased this book about terrorist. I did manage to finish it in but my real complaint is the narrator. He did excellent character voices. Really good, but most of the narrating when not using a character’s voice was like he was reading it for the first time. A sentence, stop. A sentence, stop. A few times he gave some emotion and was great, but then went back to just reading.

Poor hand to hand combat knowledge

The book is full of horrible fight scenes. How they are described and some the effects are just inaccurate and it is obvious the author knows very little about martial arts, combat sports, or hand to hand combat. It is impossible to kill someone by hitting them in the nose and the bones going into the brain pan. That doesn’t happen cartilage can’t break or penetrate bone and the skull is very dense bone. That was just one example.

Can you say careless idiot?

The main character (Jason) is an naïve, impatient and careless man. The story line of a flawed individual and a person who hates his father is old. Why can the suppose good guy for just once be normal without baggage?
