wonderfully entertaining

The whole family enjoyed listening! The characters were very likeable. The only thing I didn't like was the fanfare between sections.

books do not need music.

Loved the book. Hate the music between the chapter's, it's so loud you miss the beginning of the chapter and the music goes on for far to long!! My children complained every time that the music came on and killed the rhythm of the story.

Not Harry Potter but good series

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this series. Very well written and quite imaginative. Maybe more suited to a younger audience (8-12) than Harry Potter but not "babyish" either. Good vocabulary and endearing characters.

Mixed feelings

I enjoyed this book. However, there were times I was questioning why there was so much detail of things. It definitely helped put the exact picture the author was trying to display in my minds eye, but there were times I was wanting the description just to end already.
The end of the book I had to rewind because I did not realize the book had finished. The last chapter is something I’ve never experienced before. The author actually took the time to tell you what happened to other characters that were lost along the way to close some of those open “but where did this person go” doors.
Altogether I did enjoy this book and will listen to the next if there is one.

A Lot of Magical Fun

While not everything was all fun and games for the Heap family, it was fun to read about them. The imaginative story and characters were a pleasure. The bonus of all the tie-ins after the story was especially inspirational to me and a testament to the care the author put into her work.

Awesome, fun and clean!

The narration was fantastic, and the story was fun and engaging. I love it when books can be that way without profanity or sexual content. Highly recommended! I will be listening to the next book. Thank you!

Slightly corny, but a good time.

The reader was very good. His voices for the extra ordinary wizard and the heaps were great. Plot was enjoyable but the ending twist was too obvious. Still liked it though, all things considered.

Amazing

I first started reading this series years ago because the cover art is amazingly beautiful. Allan is amazing reading this and the music added in at the best times during the story.

Great Fun!

Great narration and suspenseful story line. Plot was imaginative and interesting even if the ending was easily predicted. Great fun to listen to and I can't wait for Book 2 to come out! I will be buying the book as soon as I can. Yes, I am an adult but one of my loves since studying it in college is children's literature. This one rates up there with the Pullman Series.
