Publisher's summary

In the sequel to the beloved high fantasy East, Rose sets off on a perilous journey to find her true love when he goes missing in a thrilling tale of danger, magic, adventure, and revenge.

When Rose first met Charles, he was trapped in the form of a white bear. To rescue him, Rose traveled to the land that lay east of the sun and west of the moon to defeat the evil Troll Queen. Now, Rose has found her happily ever after with Charles - until a sudden storm destroys his ship and he is presumed dead.

But Rose doesn’t believe the shipwreck was an act of nature, nor does she believe Charles is truly dead. Something much more sinister is at work.

With mysterious and unstoppable forces threatening the lives of the people she loves, Rose must once again set off on a perilous journey. This time, the fate of the entire world is at stake.

And she delivers again!!!

East is one of my favorite books I have ever read in my life. I didn’t need another book to complete it or even know that a sequel was written until about two months ago but I was in the middle of another series. As soon as I wrapped it up I listened to West in about a week. Wow. It was EVERY THING. It reaffirms why Edith Pattou is one of my favorite writers ever to have lived. This book is perfection, read it now.

A wonderful sequel

This is a delightful sequel to “East” and continues to build the story in a very satisfying way.

Listeners be warned: the first narrator is really only heard through the first chapter. It gets MUCH better once you power through the dry, painstaking narration of that opening bit.

So good!

A perfect accompaniment to East. I loved the story. Tears, laughter, heartache, and redemption all wrapped up into one book.

Wonderful!

I love East and West was a perfect sequel, filled with adventure. Rose continues to be resourceful and find her way out of nearly impossible situations. It was wonderful and sweet.

I listened to East with my young nieces and they loved it. West has a bit more violence and will need to get a little older before they can appreciate and enjoy West.

I loved the journey

Edith has created a world that I can easily slip in and out of. I hope there are more books soon. My only critique is that the narrators didn't sound like the characters as I had envisioned them. In the end, I was able to get past this and be enveloped in the adventure.
