A great end to a wonderful series

Would you consider the audio edition of Fyre to be better than the print version?

I always enjoy a well read book. The reader makes all the difference between enhancing the written word or just making it a chore to listen to the book. Mr. Doyle brings the characters to life with his performance.

What did you like best about this story?

I truly enjoyed becoming reaquainted with characters that appeared in various books throughout the series.

Which scene was your favorite?

The one near the end with Septimus. I shall reveal no more!

Our Family Enjoys Septimus and His Family

We read and listen, sometimes together with the grand kids, at times as a couple. Occasionally someone would cheat and finish ahead of everyone. So please,Ms Sage, hurry with the next books already.

Where is the movie? Just a wonderful story, excellent medieval back drop and the characters are amazing.

The story does take some time to get going but if you stick with the characters and don't take anything for granted the book and characters pan out in a big way!! Love this book series sooooo much

Would you listen to Fyre again? Why?

I would listen to it again there was a lot going on in the book and it is easy to miss something.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fyre?

Septimus seeing himself in the house. That means new series is coming.

What does Gerard Doyle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Gerard is one of the best vocal performers I have listened too. I don't think there is anything I wouldn't listen too that he reads.

Good. Earlier in Series are Better

Since Audible first began - yes, my membership goes back that far - it was enough to just leave a star review - no text commentary needed. Now, they require you to write a paragraph if you want to leave a star review. This is silly. Leave that bit to folks who actually want to comment. For the rest of us - please Audible - let's go back to the way that worked well for two decades.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, it was entertaining, along the lines of 'whatever happened to....' Not a page turner or earworm, but okay.

Would you recommend Fyre to your friends? Why or why not?

If they had listened to all the other Septimus Heap books, yes, why not if they have some extra time they need to kill and an extra credit to spend. If this was their first Septimus Heap book, no definitely not.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Narrator was fine. Steady performance in line with the other books.

Do you think Fyre needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No thank you. Unless it is the start of a new series, with new characters set in the Septimus Heap universe.

Any additional comments?

It should have been an epilogue to Darke, the true ending of the Septimus Heap saga. On its own it's not worth the trouble.
