Now Matt and the second of the five, Pedro - who speaks no English - must find the second gate in the lost city of the Incas before the evil star rises.

    "Excellent sequel"

This was a good follow up - the story developed some more depth, and got more interesting. Good listen. Fantastic narration. The nice thing about the narration is that it is done in such a way as to keep the focus on the story, and not the narrator's voice, but with a wide variety of voices that fit the characters.

"The Horowitz we know and love"

This is what Horowitz does so well -- fiction in a predictable genre, a little formulaic but always enjoyable. (Anyway, it probably doesn't seem formulaic to the young people who are the book's main audience. Everything is new to them.) These are great books for reluctant readers: perfect for about 5th-8th grade. And you can always rely on Simon Prebble to read it well.
