Brandon Sanderson won instant acclaim with young listeners for the first volume of his humorous and action-packed Alcatraz series, Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians. In his second adventure, Alcatraz has his hands full with a Scrivener’s Bone - a half-human, half-machine assassin - pursuing him. And if that’s not enough, Alcatraz receives word that his father is in mortal danger. Now it’s up to Alcatraz and a quirky band of his relatives to mount a daring rescue.

I like Sanderson, but I did not think he could be as good in YA as he is in his other works. I was wrong - very wrong. If you are like me and did not think he would be as good, believe me, you, too, might be very wrong. Good job Brandon! Keep 'em coming!
5 stars is i love and i will read agani and again. 1 is i hate and i never want to hear about it ever again. YES = :))) - NO= :'(
This is the most entertaining "biography" I have ever red!
To those in the hush lands: This fiction is soooo funny and good, Brandon Sanderson is a gifted and a great author, and his fantasy books are big and fat. Alcatraz gets used to his powers and to his abilities, and get introduced to new characters, which most of them are really funny.. Just wait until you get introduced to the "List"!!!
To the 3 Kingdoms:
This biography of Alcatraz was an eye opener, you get to know so much about your hero and who he really is, and how he dealt with all those evil librarians..
P.S. You will laugh a lot... so avoid drinks and food while listening to it... :)
Brandon Sanderson has become one of my favorite authors since he took on the daunting task of completing the wheel of time series started by Robert Jordan. I haven't read another author with so many different original ideas on the use or sources of magical type powers and abilities. He is a master craftsman in the ways of imagination.
Ramon de Ocampo does an outstanding job bringing each of the characters to life. The book jumps from drama to commentary and back to drama at every turn, but he handled it expertly.
A zanny story thats lots of fun, the Narration was spot on. I totally enjoyed this book.
I enjoy reading fantasy, crime and mystery thrillers, as well as historical novels.
Alcatraz, Bastille and others travel to Alexandria in Egypt to library with everything ever written and soulsucking curators who take your soul in exchange for a book. A great read and listen, full of good humour and some bad. Recommend for anyone who enjoys a lighthearted yarn.
Yes and no. I've listened to the first three and they've all had the same pluses and minuses. Addictive storyline. obnoxious writing style. I'd like to delete the continual stupid commentary, and combine the series into a single book. That gives you an idea of how much stupid commentary you have to endure.
I'm an avid reader and listener of fantasy, sci fi, and anything else that is well written.
This book wasn't as much fun as the first one, but it was still well worth listening to. The characters are once again zany and fun, the situations crazy and over-the-top but still occasionally touching.
I'll definitely pick up the next book at some point.
