Liked the story

I thought the story was well written, and I felt like I was visiting old friends so nice the author did an amazing job writing in the previous characters. I think the person reading the book added way to much country twang to her accent. I am from the South and there is no one who talks like that, at times it was annoying to listen to.

Narration was lacking.

I love Carolyn Brown and her books, but I have had a hard time listening to them because of the narrator. This one was just plain awful. Great series but the person reading made it difficult to follow.

Disappointing

Let me start with I am a Carolyn Brown fan. I love being able to pick up or listen on audio to one of her books and enjoy a good read. However this one was beyond disappointing.
If I had read it my feeling might have been different. But I listen to the audio. The "redneck" insinuation of the narrator was borderline insulting to those of us who choose a rural life.

Terrible Voices but will go on to next book

The narrator’s voices were unpleasant and weird. The story was cute but my least favorite of the series so far. The writing was wordy but may have been overlooked with a better narrator.

the narrator was terrible

the screeching voices of the women was hard to listen to and the volume sometimes was so low I don't know what was said.

Lacking depth

I have really enjoyed reading books and listening to Audio books by Carolyn Brown....absolutely love her stories, however this one fell short, and just didn't work. Great story line, but the characters seemed like adults in some scenes and completely childish in others. I had a hard time finishing this book, and wish it had more.
Still a huge fan of her books and as mentioned this is the first one I didn't care for. Great author , and I recommend her books!!

Audio Book Differs from original text

This is one of my favorite Christmas books, and I got the audible edition so that I can listen to it during the Christmas season every year. My Kindle edition is named 'Darn Good Cowboy Christmas'. I was surprised to find that this audible edition has been sanitized - all the steamy scenes have been removed. Maybe that is why it was renamed. Also, one sad incident was removed. I see no reason for this and I was disappointed - I wanted the whole book.
