Publisher's summary

An achingly authentic and raw portrait of love, regret, and the life-altering impact of the relationships we hold closest to us, this YA best seller is perfect for fans of Kasie West, All the Bright Places, and Dear Evan Hansen.

If he had been with me, everything would have been different....

Autumn and Finn used to be inseparable. But then something changed. Or they changed. Now, they do their best to ignore each other.

Autumn has her boyfriend, Jamie, and her close-knit group of friends. And Finn has become that boy at school, the one everyone wants to be around.

That still doesn't stop the way Autumn feels every time she and Finn cross paths, and the growing, nagging thought that maybe things could have been different. Maybe they should be together.

But come August, things will change forever. And as time passes, Autumn will be forced to confront how else life might have been different if they had never parted ways....

if your thinking about reading, do it

this book wrecked me in the best of ways. I knew it was coming but I wasn't ready.

Finished in a day

I’m so heartbroken. Finney and Autum deserved better. But I resonated with Autum’s feelings of regret heavily. I want more of this story line!

WHAT!?

All that build up to leave us questioning!!!! Wow. I definitely enjoyed the story, however, a lot happened really fast with little detail when the whole book was detailed so that was abrupt. I would read the next one if it’s written.

My heart hurts

Very classic tale of “Fell in love with My childhood best friend,” as well as parts of it being predictable, but it’s the moments, the memories, and finally being with your love that gets you hooked. I would love to hear the same story but in the other narrative and perspective!

Meh...it's ok

Overall good. Very predictable though. I wasn't shocked at any point. A little adolescent.

Ehhh..missed the mark

I am so bummed! It seems like everyone has raved about this book, but there was just something missing for me. I love emotional books that touch on real world problems that a lot of people are too afraid to discuss...but this just felt predictable (apart from the obvious event that the author made us aware of at the beginning, of course) and missed the mark for me. I was left disappointed when it was over.

It was okay

I’m not the type of person that stops reading even if I don’t get into it. I had to finish it. It definitely took me awhile. I only read it because social media said it was good. It’s not terrible but I think it would be a good read for someone in high school

Great book but so damn sad

I knew it was gonna be sad but I didn’t know it was gonna be that sad. I was listening to the end of it at the store and legit broke down in the middle of the aisle. 10/10 do not recommend listening in public or people will think you’re mentally challenged crying out of nowhere

Teenage drama for most of the book

Started to get interesting toward the last few chapter and then ended. Writer spent to much time describing the kids lives growing up. Ending always was kind of expected. Recommend for younger audience.
