Publisher's summary

Hunter Evans risked his life again and again as a firefighter until the night he died saving a child...only to be reborn as a vampire. Now the man who lived his life as the quintessential “nice guy” must find a way to conquer the deadly urges that threaten to turn him feral. When his own actions put a beautiful woman in danger, he vows to protect her...even from himself.

Alice Darlington has a secret of her own: she sees ghosts. She thought she’d done a good job of keeping it under wraps - until now. A terrible threat from her past is hunting her down in order to use her power for dark purposes. Now she’s on the run and doesn't know who to trust or where to go.

When Hunter and Alice team up to battle the dangers coming at them from all sides, they’re forced to rely on each other. But Hunter doesn’t know how long he can keep the beast inside him away from the woman it craves...

The Vampire Motorcycle Club series is best enjoyed in order.

Critic reviews

“Evil forces are after both Alice and Hunter, and [Mia] Madison and [Oliver] Clarke bring tones of menace to their performances. Both narrators provide a good contrast between the glamorous, sophisticated vampire and naïve Alice, who spent much of her young life trapped in an institution. Madison and Clarke work well together as they express emotions ranging from Hunter's fear of becoming a monster to a pirate ghost's arrogance in seeking Alice's help to find treasure.” (AudioFile Magazine)

Great story with pretty good narration

I like this book more than the 1st. The heroine in this book (Alice) appealed to me. She is an animal lover and a strong character who has learned how to handle her power in spite of others trying to use her for it. Charlie is also a favorite (super adorable). Like the first book the narration is either Oliver/Mia based on whether it's Hunter or Alice's point of view at the start of each chapter. Both narrators did a really good job.
