Such a great book

This book is filled with emotion and incredible writing! Bryce is a great main character, and her story is very captivating. Though I was, and still am, not a fan of the urban setting, the book could not have been set in any other way!

Narrator nailed the voices and never slipped. Never got sick of her voice.
Fantastic story line the smut is perfect the whole world building and investigation is a slow burn but captivating the whole way through I like how it had so much detail and the character at the end who comes into book 3 obviously has definitely got me purchasing book 3 😁

I'm hooked

loved the character building throughout the book and the cliffhanger at the end has me reaching for the next book immediately. the narration is epic

6 incredible stars! (when 5 stars aren't enough)

Just damn. I can’t wrap my head around all that I just read, let alone put it into words for a review. I’m gobsmacked. Once again, I am blown away and stunningly impressed by Sarah J. Maas’ storytelling, and love this urban fantasy world that she has created, and more importantly, the fabulously unforgettable characters that inhabit it. Surprising and unpredictable, I was completely caught up in the story, and loved every moment of it.

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Elizabeth Evans (who also does the first book), and she is just magic to listen to! Every character has a unique voice, and she narrates with such intensity and emotion. I highly recommend listening to this one!

What a ride!!!

I really enjoyed this one. I’m glad sjm didn’t swear as much as in the first one. What a cliffhanger!!!! Can’t wait for the next one!!

Absolute rubbish, do not waste your time

The first book was really interesting. The second book was all over the place it only set the story for the 3 rd book that I will not read, The sex scenes were juvenal, surely magical sex could be more than softcore slip slop slap. I listened to the end to see if there was a clever twist to bring all of the loose threads together but no. 27 hours of mechanical writing with no new ideas or the ability to take the story from book one to something interesting.

AMAZING cliffhanger, does NOT make it a good book

Thinking of changing my handle to something like "the unpopular opinion book reader leorak".

I just have to say, just because the last 30 pages is WOW! and there is an AMAZING cliffhanger, does NOT make it a good book imo. That feeling of "OMG OMG OMG, I am shook!!"; that doesn't mean I enjoyed the book as a whole. Or that I believe it was well written. I don't believe this was very well written.

I love Sarah J Maas - she is queen and #respect

BUT

There are a lot of problems with this book.

There is a lot of misdirection, like watching an illusionist perform magic tricks. All of it very unnecessary.
The side characters redeem this book and I will be here for book 3 for the Rhun, Ithan, Fury, Hypaxia and The Aux boys.
I would have loved to learn more about Jesiba and Isaiah.

Could have been great…

I love the science fiction fantasy part of this book. It would have been a 5 star review but the excessive porn in it spoils it.
