Publisher's summary

Annora MacKay senses a disturbing evil in Dunncraig Keep, the estate acquired by her cousin, a cruel and ruthless man. Only her affection for the tiny girl he claims is his daughter stops her from fleeing. Then a mysterious woodcarver arrives at the castle, and she cannot stop thinking - or longing - for him.

Once a laird, now an outcast, James Drummond wants what was stolen from him - his good name, his lands, and his child. His disguise for getting into Dunncraig is step one of his plan, but the enticing raven-haired woman who cares for his daughter is an unwelcome surprise. For he has come seeking justice, not love....

Better.

This was better than the last few in the series. There wasn't to much time spent on agonizing over whether or not to admit or say I LOVE YOU. Thank God!!!!!!!! Good story, good action and good narration.

We haven’t seen James since Gilly’s story and now we finally find out what happened to James. Nothing good I can tell you the man lost everything and is now an outlaw. Determined to get everything that he lost back he goes back to his keep in disguise. Annora is caring for James daughter and is an unexpected attraction for James. You he two soon pair up to help rid his keep of all that is bad and to clear James good name. Another great story and narrator Angela Dawe is awesome too!

Highland Wolf

This is the 15th book in the Murray family series. James the adopted son to Murray clan years ago. But he has claimed his own keep and married Mary. They had Meggie a sweet daughter. But he lost it all to a thieving Sir Donnell MacKay who took the keep when Mary died. Claiming that James killed his wife. Now three years later he is back. He wants what is rightfully his. His daughter and the home he lost to a liar. Meggie's nurse maid is Donnell's cousin Annora. She has her own problems from being born on the wrong side of the blanket so to speak. Their journey is not easy. Donnell has ruled with an iron fist and everyone is very afraid for their lives. James must find the evidence to clear his name. So he disguised his features and becomes an artist carver. What happens is the story. Will he win the fight of being wrongly accused of murder? Will he get the lovely Annora and his daughter Meggie? I listened to the audible edition of this book in one day.

Series moving away from the family …

It’s nice to hear James future. Though this is a Murray series am quite disappointed no Murray’s, cousins or even friends were involved or even discussed in helping James with his significant problems. I’ve enjoyed all the family connections & involvement. A bit disappointing. Miss the humor disappearing as the series progresses. Severe abuse of women has also increased.

Wolves are good!

Hannah comes through again. A unique and powerful listen about strong characters, evil villains (not just villains but evil villains), and a strong, exciting conclusion. Ms. Dawe comes through also with a great performance.
