Publisher's summary

This laugh-out-loud romantic comedy sizzles with chemistry and the magic of a Mardi Gras backdrop in an adorable opposites attract story from USA Today bestseller Melanie Jacobson!

Sparks fly when LA glitz meets New Orleans grit . . .

When Anneke flits into town between high fashion shoots to help her best friend open his new jazz club, the last thing she's looking for is a reason to stay. She'll explore the city, make her appearances, and then she's off to the next adventure. Until she realizes that her massive online crush is the proprietor of a dusty old record shop in town . . .

At twenty-nine, Jonah has already been there, done that, and he's over it. Fame and fortune? Ha. Keep it. He's had a front row seat his whole life to the way it changes people. Not even the flirty supermodel he keeps crossing paths with can change his mind . . .

Until Jonah discovers that Anneke is the woman he's been half in love with for months already. But . . . she's everything he's never wanted. Isn't she?

So fun!

Loved the love story, the chemistry, the history of the setting, and the music! Another great one from Melanie Jacobson!

Fun read! Perfect amount of spicy for me.

This is a fun quick read (or listen). I love how the characters struggled to deal with their own insecurities while trying to be honest and open with each other.

Male narrator is SO robotic

Love Melanie Jacobson novels! She is right up my alley as far as on-page steam and language are concerned. Jorjeana Marie was pretty good but the guy narrator was like listening to a bad voice acting class. Inflections in the wrong place and just very robot sounding. Still made it through. Still liked the story. But this one might be better as a read than a listen.

Robot Voice

Honestly really liked this, but the guy was awful. It sounded like a robot reading the book.

Not great

This one is so boring compared to Book One. The male narrator's voice is nasally. It has its moments, but there's very little to the plot. The main characters are too hot and cold, and it just gets annoying. It dragged on too long.

Ugggg

The way this story dragged out it was painful. It didn’t do justice to NOLA, the aged angst was nuts. These were supposed to be grown ups.

Jonah was entirely irritating, voice and whine

There were parts that were good almost entirely Anneke. Anneke was pleasant, smart, and considering her high achievement as a model has had the ability to be down to earth and not self absorbed. Everything Anneke was, Jonah was not. He was self absorbed, whining, and music snob with only his opinion as right to the detriment of having a successful record store. His sister was much more astute at running a record store successfully but Jonah kept resisting every change she wanted to make. Jonah keeps screwing up chances for a successful relationship with Anneke. His grand gesture in the end falls flat with me, because putting myself at the crowd for the Prometheus Ball, I would not like to hear about all their drama at a festive ball. I listened to this first but this was one that may not have been as bad if only read. Melanie Jacobson is a tremendous writer and would urge you to read any of her other books. I would not recommend this one.
