Publisher's summary

Meg.

Confession: I'm attracted to my student's dad. Let me give you Tyler Dixon's resume: thoughtful, manly, father of the year, widower, ridiculously attractive (basically the opposite of a dad bod).

This might sound like good news for someone like me—someone who dreams of getting married and becoming a mom—but it's not. Getting involved with a parent is a ground for immediate removal at my school, and right now, my fragile heart can't handle being fired. My mom just died. My boyfriend broke up with me, and to top it all off, my dad started dating again. Stable employment is the only good thing I have. Risking my job and my heart is the most foolish thing I could do.

Tyler.

Being a widower isn't like the movies. There's not a block of women knocking on my door, bringing me casseroles every day. No, real life is work, laundry, and groceries—all while being both the mom and the dad. I'm pretty much failing at this single-parent thing. I don't have time to date. Which is good, since the only woman I'm interested in keeps pushing me away: Miss Johnson. Emphasis on the Miss—as in, my son's teacher. It's hard to convince a woman to go out with you when she'll get fired. But it's either pursuing Meg, despite her job, or the never-ending depths of loneliness—no big deal.

Compared is a witty, heartfelt rom-com with a teacher/parent romance, an irresistible single dad, and swoony chemistry that will have you rooting for a happily ever after while keeping the romance closed-door.

Best book I've listened to all year!

I loved this story. The characters were relatable and the story had me staying up late to listen.

Sweet Contemporary Romcom

I had read the prequel novella to this series, Commit, months and months ago. I loved it and really wanted to read the other books. I just never had time to do it and really prefer audiobooks. I searched all my usual ways to listen and couldn't find them available. I finally gave in and purchased them on Audible.

I really enjoyed listening to this first one. I completed it in one day. The chemistry between Meg and Tyler was sweet. Both were overcoming losses.

One thing that is unique about the audio for this series is that the male and female narrators read all the dialog for the characters of their respective gender. It's a fun spin to the story.

I look forward to continuing listening to the series today.

Kept me on the edge of my seat!

Loved the complexity of the story! My only suggestion is that next time you have a child in the story hire a child actor to do the voice.

Laugh out loud moments!

Absolutely loved this story and the narration. Once I started listening to it, it was hard to stop.

Loved the dynamics of the characters and their families; especially loved the brutal honesty dealt out by Crew at the most inconvenient times! 😂.

Looking forward to the next book in the series, even though this book can be considered a standalone.

Funny, sweet, romantic, and realistic

This story was funny and sweet and romantic, and yet realistic in dealing with grief. But there were definitely a few times that I laughed out, loud in a room by myself.

I read much of it on my Kindle, but then I also listened via Audible and the narration was very well done! I definitely recommend this one.

Adorable, couldn’t press stop

I finished this one in a day! It was a lovely story. I don’t agree with the other reviewer who said there’s no spice. I felt lots of delicious tension, but it was clean (which I enjoyed).

Absolutely fantastic

I didn’t know anything about this author honestly so I was hesitant. I’m glad I went for it. This was so great. Funny, emotional & real. Great narration too. Buying more credits now just to download the other book this author has on audible.

well written, good narration.

The narrators did such a great job adding color to the story with inflection and nuances in their voice! Crew was adorable and Meg and Tyler made a cute couple. I did get a little annoyed at Meg towards the end. Her excuses for not wanting to date Tyler were highly illogical and the principal was a bit over the top. Her interactions with her siblings were funny and her dad seemed like a great guy! Well written

This was such an emotional story. It really highlights how everyone grieves differently. It was cute, sweet & sad.
